This video completely crashed their website for days (they originally assumed it was a DDOS attack as they'd never had that level of legitimate traffic before), and they had to coordinate with Sseth to point people to cloud alternative they spun up to handle the overflow of people trying to buy the game. since then, he always gives devs a heads up if he's about to cover a game just so they aren't taken by surprise or can potentially negotiate a discount.

Imagine being such a big influence on game sales you have to pre-emptively let the developers know that your going to review their game. Maybe we'll get that big, or maybe we'll get YT burn-out, say we need to make different content, and never have the same following we did before. Who knows!

Starsector is not on steam currently, because if i remember correctly one of the devs said he doesn't want to put the game on steam until he is satisfied with the content of the game. In other words he may drop it there when game reaches version 1.0, which is relatively close since it's v0.97a now.

Starsector is single player, but it's a hella of drug. I spend 2000+ hours in it. Also Sseth messenged creactors about cd-key, but they said that it's absolutely no problem, because since Sseth review, they got like 3000% increase in they playerbase and also because most of these players showered them with money. PS Most of the mods will not work now, because couple of days ago was new update, so modders need some time to update their mods to the newest version of the game.

Also there's usually tweaks within the first month or so based on player feedback or bugs they didn't catch with internal testing, and most of the large mods won't be updated until the bug-fix/revision grace-period is finished due to them being fairly complicated and easy to break. Alex also tries to keep major updates to a minimum of one per year so big projects like Nexrelian aren't constantly having to go in and try to fix stuff (Nex completely changes the game-genre to a 4x with RPG elements while also massively expanding on a lot of systems, and is one of the most complicated mods). Small mods that affect very specific things (like that speed mod) typically just need to have their version text updated to allow the mod to load (which the end user can do themselves if they don't want to wait). However more complicated mods or mods that changed something the new patch also changed typically need to be updated properly.

Ever since Steam became actually accesible in my territory, most of my money went to re-buying classics I was forced to pirate before. I haven't pirated a game in years because it's really just infinitely more convenient and featured (and I have the means) to get it on Steam. AAAs wanting to up the price to "combat inflation" on a market that has outgrown inflation by an order of magnitude in revenue is nothing but greed and is what's pushing me back to sailing the seas. Or would push me back, if AAA studios actually made games worth pirating, as most aren't even worth that.

I actually bought it after testing it through Sseth's key, so yeah they 100% deserve the money. Especially for only 15 bucks.

Helpful tip: You can rewind or advance a paused youtube video frame-by-frame with the , and . keys. Very useful for catching those image jokes. Edit: Oh, I see someone already commented about that earlier. Also Sseth is very good.

Im told about that function a lot, I just always forget lol. Also, i'd imagine clicking the key would be louder than clicking the mouse. But always appreciate the advice! Sseth is hilarious

28:45 Facts, when Dragon's Dogma came out on PC I pirated it first. I enjoyed it so much I bought it out of sale for full price just to share my Pawn with other players. And Dragon's Dogma is the most 7/10 game ever, that's how good it is and so Capcom got my money.

Turns out people want to support companies when they make good products. People are always going to pirate but when you give the people such a great experience, you almost feel bad that you didnt give them your money. at least to me anyway

I always find it funny how all these companies across just about anything these days are too busy trying to nickel and dime you and have forgotten the simple fact that if you make something decent, people will buy it@@GoonsGamesAndGear

the econemy part is when you want to make your own faction and take planets. its a slow start but ramps up to make cash, ships, weapons ect.

i recommend the mod aura federation, and gas station manager. both super good mods with alot of story and tons of work put in
