Looking through the comment section on Asuka videos in particular, it seems that many people watch these videos just to see the Asuka player lose - which is fine, but I would never go out of my way to watch a player (especially a known strong one like Gobou) use a character I don't like, and expect them to lose - only to complain/make an angry comment about the character and/or the player's playstyle, just because the match(es) didn't project what I was hoping for. That, in my opinion, is a very unhealthy behavior; and also shows a lack of emotional maturity. But the saying, "I hate fighting every character, except the one I'm currently playing" is prominent in the FGC/GG community for a reason...

For all the people that hate Asuka, I propose you a fun activity, purchase him on the store and go to any floor in tower without labbing him first at all and do at least 3 whole games. Once you finish, tell me how it did go and we will discuss how really "broken" Asuka is.

Gobou said that If you lose the opening game, you will be drained of health and mana, and you won't even be given a chance to reverse the situation. The match at 5:08 is a perfect example of that statement; that round was 17 seconds - one of the shortest rounds I've ever seen in GGST history. Moreover, Gobou also said that it's very easy for Sin to catch/touch Asuka, so the situations Gobou gets put in throughout these sets are not uncommon. Also, to the people complaining about Asuka not being an "interactive" character, try to play the character like Sol, Gio, or Chipp, and then you'll realize that the character is not designed to play traditional footsies. Look how Gobou is fighting for his life each time Sin gets his Asuka in the corner; if the character was meant to play "interactive", then I'm sure ASW would have made Asuka's attacks/frame data differently. Anyway, I will stop before someone calls me an Asuka downplayer (even though I play multiple characters)...

If people want a fix to Asuka, then they should make his cubes not do chip damage. The worst thing about fighting him is seeing all your tension go down the drain and your health steadily get worn down by endless cubes. There's nothing really wrong with the way Asuka is. It's a good thing to have such a technical character, but not inflicting free chip damage would pressure Asuka to mix things up more or risk draining his own health to oblivion.

No. They need to nerf just the regen card and reduce auto bookmark by 1. All they need to do is create any mana deficit and itll stop which means green card needs to be hit. If they separate them it wont fix the issue because you can carry cards between decks.

honestly i agree i know whatever he’s doing is hard to execute but the whole cubes thing gets old after the 100th time you see it. it’s not even that legible as a viewer and idk how the people playing against know what’s happening either. i think asuka is cool as a character, but he’s not very fun to watch imo.
