This 1-1/2" scale, 7-1/2" gauge Climax had been sitting in a warehouse for the past five years and had never been hydrotested. Although some piping needs to be tightened, the boiler passed.
There are three ways for this locomotive to get water into the boiler:
#1 Hand Pump: When testing before pressurizing the boiler, 10 strokes led to about 1/10" rise in the water glass. With the boiler pressurized, the hand pump didn't do the job today. Need to tighten a union and check the check valve.
#2 Injector: Water flow from the tender was inadequate, need to check. The current injector may be undersized too.
#3 Steam Pump: Although I think mostly there for the look & sound of a locomotive, it did contribute.
I had worked several items to this point. As of today, I have a new punch list of items to work.
