D2R Upgraded Sets - Trang-Oul's Avatar (5 Piece Set)

Thanks and appreciation for demonstrating the Patch 2.4 upgrade potential of this provocative Vampire Set. In practice, I don't find the Vampire's slow cast rate a problem because you don't really need to repeatedly spam any of your spells. Curses and minions obviously only need to be cast once, Fire Wall does damage over time, Meteor has a spell timer, and Fire Ball isn't worth using. Where I think the Vampire really excels, however, is as a melee fighter, particularly with a Grief Phase Blade and Deadly Strike gear. The Vampire Set's physical damage reduction, massive life leech, and full-time walk defenses give him unique melee advantages, not to mention his Bone Armor, Decrepify, Amp Dmg, etc. As for the Set upgrades, only the body armor defense boost seems worth the effort, particularly since there's no increase to the shield's block chance. With the standard set you get about 1000 points defense, and you can easily triple that with an Act 2 Defiance merc. With an Eth rune you can boost the shield's base block chance to 67%, and 170 Dex will take that up to 75% at level-70. While melee fighting, I find Fire Wall and Meteor genuinely useful for softening up targets that require more than one hit from my sword, and the ones tough enough to punch back only rarely lay a hand on me.

Important thing to mention, especially for self found Necros is that if you're using Spirit Monarch, you're gonna need 156 str anyway, so any and all these items upgraded are easily usable, even the Shadow Plate. It's also good to know that upgrading will reroll the next tier's armor roll as well, meaning there is quite a variety in defense rolls you can get. Perfect ones will likely go for a lot to the right buyer.

I use the full set for my poison nova cow farmer. The fact that you keep max block while running makes this viable. Even though the cast speed is annoying, poison nova dps doesn't suffer from it. I run trang set, Death's Web, Aldur boots, 2 BK, 10 fcr +3 PnB amu and 6 PnB Skillers.

My favourite part of trang oul is that you can walk instead of run, same speed and you don't suffer the lose of defenses. Fire wall is also a cool alternative for poison/physical immunes

I like how you Outline what this set offers you. Alot of ppl downgrade the usefulness of this set and different configurations. When they revamped all these sets years ago they did a good job not making them overpowered. I also like how other classes can uses this gear which gives you more options!

I could see this being really good with a act 2 defiance merc as a poison nova starter necro. Especially with reduced level requirements. Great video and good idea with the firewall/conviction paladin at least for a fun time

I really like this set. the only weak points are the casting frames and the Helm not having + skills. If either (or both) of those changed I think we would see a lot more Necros running the full set. I didn't realize that the Gloves, armor and wing had such low requirements upgraded and could see people doing that for the minor defensive boost. Edit: My D2R Necro is rocking the 3pc now (glove/belt/wing) as the poison bonuses are really solid prior to Dweb and Enigma. Running PN/Skellies so I am going to have to rethink my Vmagi vs trangs armor, though the helm falls WAY short of my Shako.

Yes I think if not using the full set the Three piece bonus is ideal Belt, Gloves, Wing. For Poison Necromancers it's a must because that poison skill damage and -poison resist is very important to them.

On my PN Skellies setup I use full Trang’s and the movement speed bonus is huge Ironically on my full summoner I just use the gloves belt armor. Cause I love homunculus and shako gets me to a skeleton break point lol

Throwing a meteor onto firewall in front of your merc gets you your first corpse *ALOT* faster in a lot of situations as well to CE. Never underestimate that impact.

This set which transform you into a vampire is a reference to the Lich, where the Mage or Necromancer deliberately made themselves undead in a quest to gain greater magical power. Thus Necromancer here will the full set becomes a Lich with a few Sorcerer fire spells. All though I guess that there aret better equipments, this set is very good for a Poison Nova Necromancer. Especially the glove.

Leaving aside how fun and strong Trang-Oul's can be, i wish there was an option to toggle the visual of the vampire transformation off, since the absolute DRIP of the entire set equipped at the same time is OUTRAGEOUS.

So the thing is it's not a visual transformation it's actually a real transformation. You are actually transformed into the vampire form and gain all the strengths and weaknesses of it

I always wanted to build a "Mage" Necro, run with full Trang's set with skeleton mages, spam lower resist and fire wall. They have removed the global cool down of fire wall and meteor, that's 1 step closer to my dream, now we only need the skeleton mages to do enough damage (The 2.4 patch has done some improvement to the skeleton mages, but they still don't do enough dmg yet in hell).

Used the trang armor on my kicksin for the 40% increased run/walk. That coupled with burst of speed and ias add ons, allowed me to solo hell baal in less than 20 seconds (using black flail and upped goblin toes for crushing blow. 106% crushing blow total) I figured i'd find a better tailored armor at some point, and I still haven't yet. (Unless i find an eth duriel shell to ebug although od maybe use that for my merc anyway.)

I love the appearance change, but by the time you've got all the pieces you could have way more +skills from spirit, shako/lore/etc, and any +necro skill amulets or other gear Seems like it needs a buff to be viable for how many pieces are required

If you are strictly focusing on +skills for a summoner build this full set is not typically best in slot. It serves as a really good loadout placeholder until you can get geared up. The 3 piece combo for a poison necro including +25% poison damage gloves, -25% poison resist shield and typically the belt for freeze immunity or the helm for fcr to free up the belt for something like an Arachnid ARE best in slot though. Ill tell you right now -25% poison resist on the shield is going to give you WAY more damage than just +2 skills if you swapped it for a spirit. Not to mention its socketable giving you the versatility of an extra socket a spirit wont. Most notably a 5/5 poison rainbow facet for yet another 5% poison damage and -5% resist totaling +30% poison dmg and -30% resist just off the 3 piece combo alone. A spirit isnt going to touch that damage bump with just +2 skills. Even if you extend that to +3 skills with giving up an Arachnid or +4 skills for giving up a Shako, that 30% dmg -30% resist will still win.

I dunno I like it better when the sets are not locked to a specific class. No weapon, and no shield, helps with this a lot. That way most people can get a nice effect from the sets. Take trangs for instance, it has +1 fire mastery something that could be amazing on a lot of characters but to get it you have to wear the full set. Since the set has necromancer only item.

The three bits that give -25 are well worth it for a poison necro even one with deathweb. The killing time difference between the two is very noticeable. Well worth it and then if your merc has infinity even the firewall that they give you is a good tool to kill bosses faster.

Hey Ginger Gaming Mentor, could you do a video about the combination of Angelic Raiment Set and Infernnal Tools Sets (for Necro Leveling)? Im using Angelic and Infernals Sets (Infernals on weaponswap to cast my army = got +3 to all Necroskills in total) and im in Nightmare Act3 now. Ive upgraded the Belt of Infernals to get more Potionslots (needs lvl30 and 88 srength). With Angelic Set and two Angelic-Rings (+50MF each), ive got in 231MF in total (66MF from rare Gloves, rare Boots and a Rhyme-Shield). Over all its pretty nice and works great. Ive done NormalMode at /players 7 most of the time. Its worth a look! Thx Man for all your nice videos!!

Really annoyed that they never fixed the cast speed issue ... Especially since I remember the set b4 it turned ya into a vampire. Granted it's still usable but it's definitely a negative we could do without. Heck , making the vampire an on-off toggle could also work.... Since I think most people would gladly turn it off if they could. Shame cause the set is pretty solid overall it it wasn't for the insane cast rate nerf it gets.

Trangs off hand would actually be a downgrade from my rare skull. It adds +2 summon skills, 2 sockets with perfect diamonds, +3 lower resist and a bunch of other things. It was a charming forge on nightmare.

The problem with summoner using Trangs is that teleport is almost a necessity at end game in order to position your mercenary and summons.

@@Dsaubt You can Teleport in Trangs' form wearing an amulet that's got Teleport charges so, problem solved. You can gamble TP charges amulet anywhere after level was it 40 or 44 on Nightmare. Cuz TP lvl 1 charges (22) requires level 40 if I recall it right) Level 2 Teleport charges (25) is lvl 48 that much I do remember.

Every piece drops from just about the entirety of Nightmare and Hell with exception to the Troll belt. The Troll belt only drops in hell and only from specific places because of it's rather high TC class. I think the helmet is the second rarest piece. The Wing, The Gloves, and the Armor drop all the time all over nightmare and hell.

Trangs is hardly underused, Three piece trangs is best in slot for Poison necros, Full Trangs gets used a lot for full summon necros, especially high survivability builds because of the run/walk floating thing. As well trangs belt gets used by a lot of characters for the cannot be frozen, and Trangs Gloves get a lot of love because of the 20% fcr. All in all Trangs is probably one of the most well used sets in the game imo.

No it won't, surprisingly I came to the same conclusion a long time ago and tested it. Only +all skills works with O-Skills. Specific skills even if it is the specific skills that skill belongs to don't work. This is why items with all skills are so powerful. Maras +2 Soj +1 BK Ring +1 Arkaines Valor +2 Hoto +3 Harlequin Crest +2 Crown Of Ages +1 Ect, ect

I had been wearing it for a little while as a summoner necro just for the novelty, for one big pro, it felt very safe due to its large boost on all res, I didn't recall a single sticky situation walking in and out of any place in hell, but at the end of the day I still went back to my normal gear, I really couldn't stand the extremely low cast rate, it tolls on your mentality, once back on faster cast rate I just don't want to go back to this set anymore, everything you do is just slow, go to revive a bunch of cows, you can take a toilet break during the summoning, its just unbearable, what a shame.

who hates summon necro? It's literally one of my top 3 classes and builds. I even made the Pyromancer last season and he was a roaring success.

I wasn't throwing shade I was saying you have all this extra time to be a grubby racoon, and click pots, look at gear, open chests, tombs, loot corpses...

Full set "bonus" is just bad. It cuts your fcr by half just because of REASONS.

It cuts your fcr because you're not a human anymore your a lich. It's a form transformation just like were wolf and were bear

@@GGMentor Well, in werewolf and werebear forms you cannot cast at all :) Only those attacks which require wolf or bear form.

Horrible set for summoner, I honestly don't know what the devs were thinking. It needs some love in future patches.
