Those last few minutes were the most inspiring, all three winning GGR sailors in one place on stage in front of the world at one time. If you have followed the race you will have recognized each and every sailor who set out from SDL focused on sailing and completing this race. Today we got to see each competitor back in SDL to celebrate their accomplishments. Today some of the most adventurous sailors of the world got to share the stage with each other and together they celebrated as SDL celebrated with them. As Don creator of the GGR respectfully stood off to the side handing out the most sought after trophies on the planet. Sailors celebrating sailors all understanding what their commitment meant to sail solo non stop around the world.

What a shame English being the international language and people from around the world having followed this was mainly in French and very fast speech too. Could there not have been someone giving the English version for all that was spoken as when you spoke Don???

Sadly there was no English speaking port that would give the support that LSO gave to the event. The French are by far the greatest nation of solo sailors ! It’s their event . Maybe we can get a subtitled version at some point.
