Pot v Chipp is very different depending on who you're playing. If you're playing Potemkin, it's an incredibly tense, sweaty game of patience trying and trying to find the opening in the hurricane of hits, knowing full well that sometimes you're just stuck and have very few answers. If you're playing Chipp it's like a horror game where you know that, at any point in time, for any slight mistake, you are going to get jumpscare Bustered or lose 70% of your life to a single conversion.

After rewatching it several times, here’s what I think happens: As Snakes Eyes is in knockdown, he sees Bean going for a jump in and buffers a HPB. Then, when Bean hits the ground, SE Roman Cancels the HPD into a *regular* PB. You might be confused by this, because Snake Eyes only had one bar of tension, so it looks like he should have only been able to do a HPB *or* an RC, and he somehow did both. The thing is, supers in Strive have a delay between when a character starts doing the animation for a super and when the flash that indicates a super is happening comes out, and the game only subtracts from the meter once the *second* one happens. It’s an incredibly small gap - But if you manage to Roman Cancel during the time between the super starting and the super flash, you can cancel out of a super before you’ve actually used any tension - So it only takes one bar of meter. This is pretty much useless in actual gameplay, though. There aren’t any supers whose hitboxes come out before their flashes do - The closest you get is that characters with reversal supers can get a few frames of invincibility out of it.

That’s called a Gold Burst. If you burst while in neutral (meaning you’re not currently in a combo, blocking or getting up from the ground.) and it hits your opponent, you’ll get an entire bar of tension. It’s generally risky to do but they can be a useful strategy to do sometimes.
