With the release of Guilty Gear Strive Ver. 1.09, Anji got some VERY noteworthy buffs. These changes are as follows: 1. His f.S has reduced recovery, making it a much more reliable neutral tool 2. Fuujin CAN NOW CANCEL INTO FOLLOWUPS ON WHIFF, AS WELL AS DURING THE INITIAL SPIN. This changes Anji's neutral and pressure ENTIRELY. Now you can do Fujin Followups without even doing Fujin at all, so you can use them in neutral as well as use them as much scarier mixup options. The K hop is especially strong when raw as it acts as a very fast command dash that Anji can use to get a tick throw after any blocked normal. The overhead is great for catching people down backing your pressure, and is much scarier than usual as the enemy doesnt get the telegraph of the initial hit of Fujin before having to block it. Overall, much more reliable. The P and S followups are less useful in neutral, but are still strong on their own thanks to the forward momentum from Fujin's startup. This change also makes Anji significantly less weak to DP's, as while there is still a gap between a gatling into a Raw Fujin Followup, the opponent now has to guess between Fujin or a raw Fujin followup every time they block a move, and chances are, nobody is going to be ready to DP at every single second they're under pressure. Overall the best buff Anji got. 3. Shin: Ichishiki got better active frames and an extended hitbox. This makes it more consistent on long-range parries such as a fireball at midscreen. Now you'll be able to hit the opponent from farther away! 4: Issei Ougi: Sai got a better hitbox. This is mostly to fix its problem with people falling out of the wall when attempting to wallbreak with it. Overall, Anji got VERY significant buffs, and while the tips in the video still apply, he has MUCH more options when it comes to neutral and pressuring the opponent.

Best guide I've found as a new player. More in depth than teaching how to press inputs and move, not already assuming we know all the complicated terminology and not just listing combos without context. You actually explain when to use the moves, a gameplan etc. This is the first guide that's made me actually know what to do to play the character properly

This guide is excellent, I really hope you continue with these. Fighting Game Guides with an actual gameplan for beginners are so rare and yet so valuable. I'll never forget the guide that got me into SamSho, my first "main" fighting game. In it, they gave a rundown of what my character wanted to do and then said if you want to anti-air, use move A, if you want to poke use Move B, etc. It was so valuable and this guide gives me the same vibe. Keep up the awesome work!

I don’t really know if there’s much to elaborate on lol. Butterfly oki is simply using shitsu a bit delayed on a knockdown so it hits as they get up, and DP countermeasures is just spacing fujin perfectly, which isn’t exactly something that can be taught by words

hi, anji player from the future here! his fuujin follow ups became a lot tighter, so for the most part, the k and s follow ups shouldn’t be able to be dp’d out of anymore. though, if you’re still nervous about it, you can always rc the k follow up and keep the pressure up with more mixups.

I heard that GG Strive was made differently to make the game easier for new people, but I tried strive and doing any combos feels clumsy to make and what ever I try it is almost impossible to do any combos, max 3 hits is what I manage to do. While in Rev2 I immediatelly catched how GG Rev2 combo system works and I really like it and from almost start made some fancy combos. Cant catch Strive, it doesn't feel right for me. I will give the game second chance when Jam or Baiken will arrive.

Is it really possible to consistently get some of these combos? I'm practicing Counterhit, and I'm like... WTF! At first I can't get the second close slash on the wall bounce, so I try using a shorter dash and get it--and now I'm having trouble connecting the air dust--and it's just like, wtf is happening?! Is this fighting games?! "Oh--he dropped his combo!"--a commentator. No shit! How do you not drop these combos?!

Great video... But for someone who has loved and used Anji since Guilty Gear X, these mechanical changes to guard points are absolutely painful to see.
@eddventure62143 жыл бұрын
I actually find this guard point to be stronger than +r (Anji main there too) because of its variable timing and the fact it parries both highs and lows. Plus the fact that it doesn’t lead to spesific follow ups means you can actually get crazy damage AND hard KD
