Yeah...this dude deals way too much damage especially considering he's pretty easy to play. Slayer feels like the ultimate scrub stomper character in his current state. In lower floors Slayer is an absolute menace just due to the fact that inexperienced players can mash buttons and still deal insane damage against players who aren't experienced enough to take advantage of Slayer's defensive weaknesses. I'm really hoping his damage gets at least slightly reduced at some point. To compensate, they could buff his defense such as improving his backdash or something like that. In my opinion this would make him a better balanced character overall, but I'm sure some people will disagree with me and just say to get good.

If you reduced his damage, he'd be an unplayable character. He is very easy to stuff if you know the properties of his moves and know the matchup. Since nothing he does is really "real". You can throw him out of most of his stuff, you can also jab out of most of his stuff. Really the only thing he has which is really strong is his 2H since it has a really bonkers hitbox. But other than that, he isn't that impressive. He just wins because if he catches you with one of these things, half your health disappears. The problem everyone really has with his design is that, UNTIL you know the matchup, he feels like an out of control semitruck that just runs you over. He has that "Scrub killer" effect where he is a terror to less seasoned players, and underwhelming to very strong players. I'd be up for a slight redesign though to make his mixups more real in exchange for less damage.

This is a super hot take, but I'm not sure Sneed deserves all the hate. I could just be misinformed, but isn't the only thing he's guilty of liking weird r34 on Twitter? He's not hurting anyone, and it's so much better that he's using drawings as an outlet rather than abusing children.
