Nikolas DID NOT start off bad, in fact, he was just like Spencer. The show decided at some point to change course. Stefan didn't start out bad either. He was a gray character until they decided to turn him into a complete psychopath. Laura also abandoned Nikolas twice.(I cut her some slack the 1st time due to Helena, but the 2nd time was to appease Luke, which was ridiculous)

Exactly. Idk why this show acts like Nik was always a POS. He was decent in the beginning and had a heart. He always had that internal struggle, but he wasn't cold until they decided to take him in that direction.

If I remember correctly the first thing he did when he was introduced was save Lulu because she needed a transplant (if I remember correctly), and he met Lucky watching his little sister sleep, and from there he made his name. When he was in "close" contact with the Spencers, although Luke resented him he wasn't bad at all...the Cassadine family turned him into """bad""", brainwashing Stefan, Helena etc. .

@octoberapple Yupp, the difference between Stefan and Victor is that for all of Stefan's flaws and cons, he truly did love and adore Nikolas. Still pissed to this day that they ruined Stefan and didn't make him Nikolas's bio father.

Elizabeth and Nikolas have been helping each other out through good and bad for years! I personally like this storyline because it's true to Niz's history. When she was keeping "Jason's" identify a secret from Sam/Danny, she turned to Nik and he helped her. Dude even shot her sister to protect that secret! They've always had this unconditional, no questions asked loyalty that I've loved. It's too bad that gh wasted time on Nava, when they should've been focusing on Niz. And honestly, if they wanted to give Nik another child, Aiden is right there. There is a running joke that Aiden is really a Cassadine. It would be a great storyline.

I'm fairly certain that Aiden would be a Cassadine if Jonathan Jackson had not come back to reprise the role of Lucky. The writers were perfectly fine cuckolding Lucky through Greg Vaughan, to the degree of making his wife's children by other men.
