It would seem that Trina is growing from this experience because she even talked about getting her place. The writers can bring in a new love interest for Trina later this year. I figured he wouldn't be back since he has been given a great opportunity outside of GH. I remember the same thing happened on AMC when Greg and Jenny finally got together and married only to have her killed off on their honeymoon. Same with Luke and Laura she left not that long after getting married to him only to come back a year or so later and they then left together. I hope they give Trina something to do and not put her on the back burner.

Trina is already being put on the back burner and I think that Tabyana is being treated like Genie Francis was treated back in the 80's before she left GH. Tabyana is being treated like her only value to GH is when NAC is around and Genie Francis was treated like her only value to GH was because of Tony Geary/Luke. Soap Operas do not have a good history of keeping and promoting its characters who are people of color and I won't be surprised if Trina suffers because usually the powers that be on a soap opera are harder on a woman of color.

The powers that be will likely recast Spencer Cassadine and use NAC leaving GH as a way to break up Spencer and Trina eventually. I don't think that the new writers think much about Trina and are more concerned about Joss and Michael, and the rest of the young cast members aren't given much to do.

Unfortunately soaps are the “step children” of movies and tv shows now. Even with streaming, reality shows and soaps are the step children. I think being with Ace makes Trina feel closer to Spencer. Having said that, I am a little puzzled by Trina's storyline. All of the comments seems to agree that NAC is not returning to GH. If that is the case, why is Trina bonding with NAC's little brother. It makes no sense. To me, if the writers bring Ace back into Trina's life, it's an indication of Trina re-living the experience that Spencer and her and little Ace had on the haunted star, and a sign that she may through Ace find the courage and motivation to believe that Spencer is still alive, just as she did when the haunted star exploded with Spencer still on board. It makes more sense to let her get close to Ace and by association Laura, if they have plans of reuniting her with Spencer. Otherwise, I do not see the point. Are the writers creating a bond between her and Ace and Laura just for the heck of creating a bond, or is there a story brewing that we have yet to figure out. I am not giving up on NAC yet, and I would encourage all of Sprina fans to do the same until there is an official statement from GH and/or NAC confirming that he is not coming back.

@soniamet2074, I thought maybe being around Ace, she would feel deep down in her heart that Spencer is still alive. Great thinking my lady. I was told last night that NAC is not coming back but a few weeks ago, they said Dante was leaving and also Drew was leaving. I know Drew signed a big contract with Hallmark or American Family Network. I love the way you are thinking because sometimes things are happening behind the scenes that we are not aware of. I do know one thing, Ace remembers Trina, he was just smiling. Maybe GH is acting like NAC is not coming back, part of their "Epic Return" for him. It makes no sense to write Nicholas out by sending him to a prison out of state. It is like the Cassadine family has died. My instincts say NAC is coming back but with a twist that we do not see coming. Maybe NAC is negotiating with GH to do other projects and still do Spencer until this love story is told with a happy ending for Spencer and Trina. The ratings for GH would go off the charts. @@marshagreen9759 Marsha, I just can't shake the feeling that we are not getting the right information as far as NAC's return is concerned. If he is not returning, why doesn't GH just come out and say so. What is all this mystery about! We are not hearing any confirmation from NAC or GH about the status of Sprina. They owe us fans the truth about whether our favorite couple will reunite or not. If they are planning an epic reunion for them, that is not the way they should go about it because they are alienating some of the fans who thinks that NAC will not be coming back. On the other hand, may be GH is trying to cleverly phase out Sprina because they are tired of hearing about our legitimate complaints and the justified accusations of prejudice...in which case they would allegedly allow misinformation to spread freely without ever confirming the truth behind said misinformation. Marsha, whatever the case may be, I am not at all convinced that NAC is not returning. As I said before, every instinct is telling me that this is a ploy. Until I hear it from GH or NAC himself, I will not believe the stories of NAC not returning as Spencer. There is something very odd about the way that the whole story is being spread without so much as a word from GH or NAC. I am suspicious by nature, but my sense of disbelief in this case goes beyond suspicion.

Do you think that the Producers "dropped the ball" when they decided not to hire a RECAST during Nicholas's- What was SUPPOSED to be TEMPORARY HIATUS-from the show? I am asking, because I wonder how much further Ms.Shannon Peace would have been able to take the Sprina "ship" had another actor been playing the role of Spencer. With the writers ' Strike and Delays that it placed on the production of many shows (such as "Monsters") I wonder if the producers should have reconsidered their decision- Since NAC was going to be away from GH longer than EXPECTED! Maybe those in power behind the scenes felt that the Sprina fans would have not been RECEPTIVE to a RECAST. MAYBE I am WRONG, But I think the fans would have embraced the RECAST if it kept the MOMENTUM of the SL going! !

The producers could have brought in a recast temporarily while NAC was gone, even though most of us fans would have strongly resisted or objected to the idea because we felt so strongly that NAC was the one. I would have been one of those fans who objected, but if the temporary recast was good at his job, I would have warmed up to it to keep the momentum going until NAC came back. While we all believe that NAC is very talented and would eventually have to leave GH for bigger and better things, I think a lot of us expected and wanted him to come back to his role as Spencer, at the very least until his contract was up this July. He had always been so devoted to Sprina, so we hoped that he would be back, and we held on to that idea. As GH did nothing to discouraged that hope among the fans, we continued to believe that it was a temporary leave of absence (although some fans had strongly expressed the possibility that NAC might not return). Up to this day, we have heard nothing from GH confirming whether NAC will returned or not (although we've heard that he will not be returning from other sources with no confirmation from NAC, his camp or GH). GH by now is in a position to know for sure whether NAC is returning or not, but they have said nothing to inform Sprina fans of NAC's status. Not only has GH dropped the ball, but they have failed the fans many times over... even now with their silence on the issue of NAC's return when the fans really wants to know the truth. GH have failed us as fans, and they have failed Sprina, NAC and Tabyana... and they continue to do so with their silence on Sprina's status. We have not even heard from Tabyana at all on this issue. Although she might have been sworn to secrecy, or, she doesn't really know what is going on herself. NAC and her are very good friends, would he have not said something to her about all this. The whole air of mystery on this issue is so odd and strange, that I think they're hiding something. It is such a shame, that even now we fans still have to complaint about the amount of screen time given to Trina during her grieving of Spencer (last summer we did that ad nauseum and GH ignored us until other platforms begin to call them out). Did GH dropped the ball! Absolutely they did Vernita. They did so in so many ways, and it did not begin with NAC's leave of absence. It began with GH's lack of respect and appreciation for Sprina and everything they brought to the table, the mis-treatment of Sprina and Taby, and the lack of respect and consideration for the fans who brought Sprina and GH to the heights of popularity. I am disappointed with GH all around and I only watched the show in support of Tabyana, and only when she is being featured. I would like to hear from NAC at this point if he is not returning.

Laura didn’t speak to Trina at the "funeral" or since. Trina should create a new positive life for herself. Ace and her are cute together but she doesn't need to be sidelined playing the nanny at 21. GH disappoints on so many levels. After 61 years and lots of Black female fan support no Black main characters or writers. SPRINA made things look hopeful but the way they are dealing with this situation with no official statement doesn't look good.

I share your sentiment. I will wait to hear it from the horses mouth himself. If NAC is indeed not coming back, why haven't GH make an announcement to that effect. As a Sprina fan, I do not want to be manipulated by GH because an announcement would send Sprina fans running and tank GH's rating. They need to let the fans know if NAC is coming back or not. GH stop waisting our time by letting us guess which way is up when you already have your answer from NAC.

The first thing that the powers that overlooked is that in most cases someone can easily find a channel dedicated to their favorite soap opera couple or character or characters and just watch their scenes and in this case people watching GH are already upset that Tabyana hasn't been given much to do during NAC's leave of absence and now many people are waiting for her contract to expire and for Tabyana to leave GH in 2025 if not before then. Tabyana should see that the other characters who are people of color have been put in the background.

I don't know what the truth is and I don't believe in speculating about things concerning NAC. It's the former journalist in me. I know enough to know there are ways they do things on TV shows and when the media is allowed to make statements. I'll leave it there. I would never try to speak for NAC or anyone else on this show. I have seen lots of people trying to speak for what they think NAC did or what GH didn't do and no one knows him enough to say what the truth is. I am not taking sides because I don't know anything. At this point this is my focus - I am saddened because there are some black cast members on the show I like but they don't write well for them. I'm going to say something controversial - but here it goes. I am not saying this to start a debate - there is no debate for me. I said what I said and I am unwavering in it. I don't think there is much support for most of the black cast members from black viewers. I don't like when people pretend to care about them when they really don't. They try to lump them all in the #blackhospital hashtag when they really don't care about most of them and I don't like it. Some of the black actors are the show are wonderful - they deserve better writing and better support from black people. I said what I said! Good luck to NAC in his future endeavors. I mean that sincerely. He is the first actor I saw on the first episode I watched that made me sit up straight. I started watching GH for the first time New Year's Eve 2022 going into New Year's Day 2023 (that particular episode). Full disclosure: GH was recommended to me by a friend while I was on my holiday break. I hadn't watched any soaps in 20 years. NAC is the only reason I kept watching the show after my holiday break was over. The only reason. I enjoyed the Cassadine family on Day 1. They slowly started getting rid of the Cassadines and then it was basically just Spencer...and now he is even gone.( I know Alexis is a Cassadine...but she and her daughters don't involve themselves in Cassadine family business). They can recast but no one else can be NAC's version. I am curious about a possible recast.

The Ashford family really doesn't bring much to the GH storyline for me and Curtis being used to erase Taggert from GH and from Trina's life as much as possible were two big strikes against Curtis and Donnell should have known that Curtis being married to the insufferable Portia wasn't going to help him either. I know that Donnell asked for a family for Curtis but I think that has been used against him and it has gotten to the point where I don't want to see Curtis in another lead storyline and I don't think that the powers that be really thought much about Curtis and his awkwardly and poorly written storyline and I think that Curtis storyline was written like a quota storyline to show that they have one Black male lead character but not much else. Curtis treats Portia like sloppy seconds and easily cheated on her physically and emotionally with Jordan and Portia is more clueless about Curtis emotionally cheating on her than Willow was about Nina and Curtis being in a wheelchair was used to erase any problems in Curtis and Portia's doomed marriage. Look at TJ, he is going to be a father but that storyline is really all about Molly and Kristina. Look at how quickly Jordan gets taken off of the Pikeman case, GH doesn't do much with its cast members who are people of color and people watching GH already know that. I am not looking forward to a Spencer Cassadine recast especially given that Tabyana hasn't been given much to do when NAC has taken his leave of absence, Tabyana deserved to have the chance to shine while Trina mourned Spencer's "death" and usually when a character is recast that character if they were in a romantic relationship with someone that usually that romantic relationship is broken up over time especially when it's a bi-racial couple and usually the woman of color is the one who is put on the back burner and Trina really isn't given much to do already and there are no signs of improvement there.I expect to see Trina and Spencer be watered down because of the Spencer Cassadine recast and broken up eventually. I think that NAC wanted to work on GH and other projects from time to time just like James/Valentin and Adam/Nikolas and Cameron/Drew have all recently done. I really don't think that the powers that be at GH really wanted it to be announced that NAC wasn't returning to GH on the first day of the May Sweeps because NAC and his exit really upstaged the current storylines on GH and I blame the powers that be for this not NAC. Why should people bother to support and encourage what GH is doing to Trina and especially the awkwardly written Ashford family? Answer, people watching see the lack of screen time and storylines and effort by the powers that given to the people of color. Curtis's storyline is written awkwardly and poorly and it got to the point where I really don't want to see Curtis in another lead storyline and I think that Curtis's storyline was used against him and to fill a quota and to show that GH has one Black lead male character and I can't expect people watching GH to like and support a poorly written storyline and Donnell should have known that being married to Portia wasn't going to help Curtis and Curtis being used to erase Taggert from GH and from Trina's life as much as possible wasn't going to make Curtis look good and it doesn't and I don't really want to see Curtis or Portia together or separately because Curtis's storyline was so poorly written. Donnell wanted a family for Curtis but when I see Curtis on screen I think that it's really a perfect example of be careful what you ask for and Portia and Curtis are easily one of the worst couples currently on GH.

I hope the #blackhospital hashtag goes away because black people don't want to support most of the black actors on this show. The show isn't well written for most of the actors white or black. I see so much potential for the black cast that's why I personally advocate for them. It isn't about how they are currently being poorly written - because I could say that about most of the cast. The potential is there if they cared about investing. Black people have given up on seeing the investment of the majority of the black cast...that's on them. Fine. TO SPRINA FANS ! If NAC doesn't come back to GH. SPRINA storyline is not DEAD and SPRINA fans need to DEMAND NO SPENCER recast. A Spencer recast will give these new GH head writers to break up Sprina FOREVER, drop Sprina storyline and Spencer will move on to a white female (There goal) WHAT needs to happen is what happen when Genie Francis left GH in 1982 at the VERY HEIGHT of Luke and Laura . GH need to give Trina a storyline without a boyfriend or husband. NAC can come back to GH down the road in 2024 or 2025 for a month so Sprina can be reunite , get married and leave town. Genie Francis came back to GH in 1983 so Tony Geary could leave GH , Luke and Laura could be unite and they left town. . THIS NEEDS TO HAPPENED NOW THAT GH is Jason/Sonny/Carly /Joss/ Dex GH show.

@@mudeasno1baby73 I think that it has been the dream of the powers that be to put Trina in the background and put Spencer with a white woman and I think that a Spencer Cassadine recast will be used to break up Spencer and Trina for good just like what happened when Marisa Ramirez who played the original Gia left GH and the role of Gia was recast and it was clear that the recast was used to break up Nikolas and Gia. I think that it will be a long ten months for Tabyana and Sprina fans because I think that Tabyana's time and talent are being wasted on GH and seriously it is hard not to notice that Brook/Portia is hardly on GH and the rest of the Ashford family for the part has been put on the back burner and I don't think that things will go well for Ava once everyone realizes that she knew that Sonny was being under medicated and she did nothing. I always wanted Tabyana to leave GH when NAC does because Trina is already being put on the back burner and there are no signs of improvement. New writer Elizabeth Korte is known to be a fan of Carly's and by extension Joss and Joss and Michael are the lead characters in their age group with a lot of the young cast members generally speaking not given much to do. I won't be surprised if Elizabeth Korte tries to put Spencer with a white woman eventually. A recast of Spencer Cassadine isn't good news for Tabyana or the Spencer and Trina Fandom in my opinion. I know that Donnell asked for a family for Curtis but that storyline was awkward and poorly written and it got to the point where I don't want to see Curtis in another lead storyline and so I always keep in mind to be careful what you ask for because Donnell asked for a family for Curtis and it didn't go well for him. NAC fought very hard for Spencer and Trina and Tabyana and I highly doubt that we will get that from a Spencer Cassadine recast. NAC isn't a "Yes" man and I expect to see Trina and Spencer watered down and broken up eventually because I think that the powers that be have priorities that don't involve Trina and Spencer. I don't trust the new writers at all because they seem to care only about Joss and Michael and the other young cast members aren't given much to do. I don't think that Tabyana gets enough credit for her talent as an actress and she deserves to shine and have her work and talent acknowledged and recognized and that's really not happening on GH and there are no signs of improvement. I think that NAC wanted to work on GH and on other projects from time to time like James/Valentin and Adam Huss/Nikolas and Cameron/Drew have. The writers who advocated for Spencer and Trina and the writers who are people of color were recently let go too.

There are many young, dynamic, experienced actors who can make a recast work. I support Tabyana. I'd like to see a good storyline for her with or without NAC.
