I see 5 possible suspects for Ava’s attack: 1. Mason (seems too obvious) 2. Victor or one of his underlings 3. Esme 4. Ryan (seems like his MO) 5. Elizabeth having another of her spells (that would be the most interesting plot twist)

I think it was either Ryan or Esme. Ryan may be in custody but he's clever enough to get out. Plus, Ryan only has his left hand and the attacker attacked with their left hand. Also Ryan has attacked with a hook before. Remember a few years ago, he cut off that mean woman's head with a hook? His motive would be with their relationship and for what happened to Esme. Esme could've done for what Ava did to her. Ryan may have taught Esme to attack that way.

He killed Kiki for hurting Ava, he was upset when Ava hurt her hand when she visited him in prison, he forced her to take her rage out on him when she stabbed him instead of herself about Kiki and he even told Nelle he could never hate Ava, not to mention his infamous stabbing of the cellmate who very rudely joked about Ava and he tried to kill Chase for talking crap about Ava in the jail cell. Esme even suspected that Ryan wouldn't stand for her doing anything harmful to Ava physically because it would piss him off and she was afraid of him. So either Mason did it, Liz flipping out, or an enemy or sibling like Julian or another Jerome we forgot about could be capable of it. Spencer not bout that life, Nikolas was busy shooting off at the mouth and blaming Ava for his stupidity and Victor was already trying to help cover up the Esme situation and harass Valentin.

Ryan is gonna be pissed and he better get to kill the bald guy Mason whom I blame entirely. Nobody likes Mason anyway and Ryan offing him would be poetic. They could even bring dude in on a hospital trip and he overhear Ava was stabbed. Low-key karma for him. Besides if it was Ryan (not when the victim is Ava) we would have seen him do it like the other murders his entire stint and Esme doesn't have a man's hands so it ain't her. The Cassadines are too obvious and Ava is bound to recall who did it as she saw the person face. Also could be something to do with Emse's actual mother if she happens to be Rachel Locke. Perhaps Mommy hired a hit man? But it's most likely Baldy as he has to go anyway.

Crazy!!! I was just thinking about writing a fan fiction for Nava and I had them arguing about just shooting nikolas as punishment and getting it over with. But that instant forgiveness meant that nikolas would have to damn near die to get it. Flat lining once was was bonus. GH thought on similar lines. We'll see how Ava fares.
