sussezq thank you so much for posting all these clips. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to find them all on youtube! I was a teenager when this aired. I live in Canada and General Hospital wasn't carried on any of the local channels. You needed cable to have access to the American networks. My first encounter with General Hospital was at a friend's house. I only saw part of an episode, but I was hooked. My parents refused to get cable, so no General Hospital for me. When I got a part time job, I called up the cable company and got cable installed lol. By the time I was able to watch GH, it was just at the start of L&L's summer on the run. The first episode I saw was something about Bobbi doing a fireworks display for Luke so he could get away. It was 40 years ago, so it's pretty hazy, but I'm looking forward to seeing it all again. I had never seen L&L's relationship leading up to that summer, had never seen the rape (except in flashbacks) and its aftermath, so finding all this on youtube is like striking gold! Thanks again sussezq. I've been working my way through your playlist, and getting obsessed with L&L all over again! Love it!

I so loved their sibling portrayal. Mr. Geary and Ms. Zeman portrayed my favorite fictional sibling pair. They were so fantastic. Loved them as well and as much as Ms. Francis and Ms. Alexander as mother and daughter... those two teams were really important to the Luke and Laura story. Sad they don't really play those family dynamics much any more. We can all relate and respond to them.

Kin Shriner was a great actor too... they were all amazing back then. I loved Scotty... but when Laura switched to Luke as the object of her affection, as a viewer I switched to prefer that pairing too. I still love Scotty... liking the rumors of his return! I just want him to get over Laura already because Laura... in the end... NEEDS to be with Luke.. he's a MESS without her!!

I always appreciated how *human* Scotty's character was. Sure, he was a hothead and a loudmouth...very pushy when his masculinity was threatened. But he was a kid, playing the role of the Golden Boy...his attitudes toward Laura reflected that. He never really got a chance to grow into a mature adult b/c of L&L's affair...I always thought Kin brought a lot of depth to this character. Yes, he makes me mad sometimes, but I can't help but love him and his devotion to Laura.

This is all so different in retrospect honestly... perhaps more peolple wanted Luke with Jennifer because plenty of people wanted Laura with Scott at that time... before we knew all the stuff that would happen in the future.

Yes, they did what they could to make her as appealing as possible, so it was more obvoious how crazed Luke was for Laura. She was rich, and nice, and cute.. and even forward enought that he didn't have to do anything!!!

You know personal video recorders in Beta and VHS were rare back then.. just the year or so makes a difference in the late 70's of what got preserved. I have not seen those anywhere.. even most of 79 is just stuff they posted later on soapnet... so I can't help you. Sorry!
