What I think it's not Sonny and Michael's fault I know who's behind Claudia's death it was Dante and Sonny's brother Ric who threatened to kill Claudia to frame Sonny and Michael Corinthos.

Plus Claudia who heard Jax's brother Jerry who threatened to kill Claudia that was a mistake plus she heard the confession of Jerry Jax and Ric who put Michael in a coma, Claudia made a phone call to blow up Jerry Jax's car full bombs, we see here that Claudia didn't want to get involved of the shooting that was made for Sonny. "The Prosecutor Claire Walsh is in on it with the judge Carol to put Sonny away for good to give the damn blame on Sonny I think Jerry Dante Claire Walsh and judge Carol put themselves away for good in essence to prison"
