This time-scenes between the two of them-were what I LIVED for. Robin Mattson (Heather Webber) said when the writers make changes in scenes, after the actors have the scripts, those pages are pink. The first scene she had with Tony and Roger she listened to their ‘back and forth’ then she turned to the director. “Why didn’t I get the pink pages for this scene?” The director said,”There weren’t any pink pages for it.” Meanwhile those two guys are grinning from ear to ear. They picked up one each other’s rhythm perfectly. If Luke and Todd were doing their “Rowland & Martin” routine you just had to hang on and try to say something that closely resembled your lines. Seeing Roger/Todd for the first time ever, and he’s going toe to toe with Tony/Luke I immediately loved him. His offhand,smart a**, sarcastic or just funny comments were genius. I hated losing Todd. We had to accept Franco, because that let us keep Roger. But I miss Todd Manning.

Not true. You can't compare Luke Spencer to Todd Manning. Todd was a monster. Luke was not.

@@renealexander2703 In the sense that both commited horrible crimes and became redeemed and very popular inspite of it. Both are quick witted and sarcastic. In that regards Luke was the prototype for Todd

​@@renealexander2703Luke was a great character but he was a rapist too. Even though Laura went on the run with him and fell in love with him he did rape her. Todd did bad things too but like Luke, he was a fascinating anti hero the likes of which had never been seen before on daytime TV. Not since Jonathan Fried played Barnabas Collins on Dark Shadows. And all three found redemption, if not being saints. Two committed monstrous acts and one was literally a monster but they were capable of doing the right thing. The main difference between Luke and Todd is that GH tried to paint him in a more heroic light but OLTL didn't sugar coat Todd's bad behavior.

In recent years Luke admitted to his two kids that he raped their mother. I credit GH for having Luke admit to his crime. Great acting by Tony and Joshua Jackson for their scene together.

@Eagle Fang What I meant is that he's a character that wasn't suppose to be this popular and who committed a horrible crime, the same crime in fact and who ended up becoming a huge fan favorite. Both have extremely sharp wit and are very funny. They do have a lot in common.

@@renealexander2703 Yes, operative word being "Was". Once they decided to move into a different direction with him, he became very similar in how sardonic Luke was although less charming but there was a darkness in Todd that was akin to Luke's.
