"Those who, if We give them power in the land, establish Salah (Aqamu-salah) and pay the poor-due and enjoin kindness and forbid iniquity. And Allah's is the sequel of events." 22:41 The question is, if Aqamu-Salah simply means to maintain prayers and take care of it, why is it linked with political power ( if we give them power in land). If Ghamidi's translation is correct the whole verse becomes meaningless. Both Yusuf Ali and Pickthall translate the term as 'Establish worship'.

momin8888 Countless of times it's mentioned in Quran without being linked to political power. Besides, there is a hint in the previous verse 22:40: "[They are] those who have been evicted from their homes without right - only because they say, "Our Lord is Allah ." And were it not that Allah checks the people, some by means of others, there would have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which the name of Allah is much mentioned. And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might." From the above verse it is clear Allah wants to preserve the already existing places of worship where name of Allah is already mentioned including monasteries, churches, synagogues and mosques, and if Allah gives Muslims power in a land they establish salah among themselves and not force it on the people of other faiths.

Quran mentions in Surah al-Hadeed Aayat 25: (لِيَقُومَ النَّاسُ بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَنزَلْنَا الْحَدِيدَ), [ that men may stand forth in justice; and We sent down Iron, in which is (material for) mighty war], So Iqaam or Aqeem can be used to implement system of State. Well, he just says in this video Aqamu Salah/Din doesn't mean to establish, as that is the urdu meaning of the word (qaaim) and that is the mistake of Maulana Maududi. And that, its meaning in Arabic is limited to just guarding it in their personal life. So if he says it also means to establish it by the Islamic state then this a blatant contradiction and why is he disagreeing with understanding of Maulana Maududi and other scholars?

And if it includes to establish in community then why is he criticizing the interpretation of Maulana Maududi any why come up with this distinction of Arabic meaning and Urdu meaning?

Aayat "Hu Allazi Arsala Rasulahu Bil Huda" is mentioned in 1. Surah Tauba, 2. Surah Muhammad, 3. Surah Saff, ALL THESE SURAH'S MAIN MAZMOON IS JIHAAD (QITAAL), SO Ghamidi Sahab is clearly Wrong. Dr Israr Ahmed have written a booklet on this very Aayat (Huzoor SAW ka Maqsad e Besat), I invite You to read this booklet with open mind and think yourself.
