Alha was the commander of the historical Bundelkhand located in central India and was famous for his valor. Alha's younger brother's name was Udal and he too was more than his brother in valor. King Jagnik of Jagner composed a poem called Alh-Khand, in which the story of 52 battles of these heroes is described.
Under the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, there is a grand temple of Mother Sharda, sitting on the Trikoot mountain. There is such a secret of the Maihar temple of Pahara which is still working today. It is believed that two brave warriors come here to worship the mother but are never seen. After the evening aarti, when the priests come down after closing the doors of the temple, the bell is heard from inside the temple. At times, evidence of flowers being raised has also been found. This claim has been made by the priest of the temple, Devi Prasad himself. Nearby elders say that the devotees of Maihar Wali Mata Alha-Udal still come to worship.
Some distance away from the Trikuta mountain, in the middle of the forests, the Akhada of Alha Udal is situated, in which he used to practice wrestling,
आल्हा मध्यभारत में स्थित ऐतिहासिक बुन्देलखण्ड के सेनापति थे और अपनी वीरता के लिए विख्यात थे। आल्हा के छोटे भाई का नाम ऊदल था और वह भी वीरता में अपने भाई से बढ़कर ही था। जगनेर के राजा जगनिक ने आल्ह-खण्ड नामक एक काव्य रचा था उसमें इन वीरों की 52 लड़ाइयों की गाथा वर्णित है।
मध्य प्रदेश के सतना जिले के अंतर्गत त्रिकूट पर्वत पर विराजमान माता शारदा का भव्य मंदिर है। पहाड़ के मैहर मंदिर का है एक ऐसा रहस्य जो आज भी काम कर रहा है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि दो वीर योद्धा यहां मां की पूजा करने आते हैं लेकिन कभी नहीं देखे जाते। शाम की आरती के बाद जब पुजारी मंदिर के कपाट बंद करके नीचे आते हैं तो मंदिर के अंदर से घंटी की आवाज सुनाई देती है। कई बार फूल उगने के प्रमाण भी मिले हैं। यह दावा खुद मंदिर के पुजारी देवी प्रसाद ने किया है। आसपास के बुजुर्गों का कहना है कि मैहर वाली माता आल्हा-उदल के भक्त आज भी पूजा करने आते हैं।
रिकूट पर्वत से कुछ दूर जंगलो के बीच आल्हा उदल का वह अखाडा स्थित है जिसमे वो कुश्ती का अभ्यास करते थे ,,, और जंगलो के बीच स्थित है 1000 साल पुराना वह कुंआ जिसका जल आल्हा उदल पीते थे
