I am Black American and I learned how to make fufu from watching videos on YT after I learned about my Cameroonian heritage. I haven't had it in a while, I went back to my own roots eating cornbread with my soups and stews lately. But now I miss the taste of fufu with okra soup! I may make some this week! Thank you for this video!

After 32 years in Europe I'm finally returning home and your tips are surely going to help me eat healthily because I was very worried about food hygiene in our markets. Thanks to you I can make my own fufu dough, fufu floor and tomotoes puree. Thank you.

Hello gorgeous Nana, that is the perfect way to eat fufu with okra soup, I never knew Ghanaians eat this too, we call it Akpu in naija, is one of the best swallow sis, the smell though 🤩, you can just soak the peeled Cassava leave it for 3 to 5 days then just run it through sieve to remove the Cassava roots, then use cheese cloth to remove excess water, then ready to be cooked, definitely market women use this method too, thanks for sharing gorgeous sis 😘🥰💕🙋🏾♀️

Nanaaba, you've taken me back to my own childhood too! My Father owned a cassava farm and we made our own garri and fufu growing up at home. I absolutely loved cassava fufu just because it does pair well with okro like you said or "Ewedu" vegetable soup, or ogbono. I haven't had fufu in years and had no idea one could make it with the frozen yuca. Thank you so much for sharing this video. The memories.....God bless you! ❤❤❤

God bless you too my beautiful Efa🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️ wow! Your father’s cassava farm! That’s a memory you must cherish for as long as you live sissy! I remember myself, some cassava farms we had in our neighborhood and I’ve been fascinated over the years by how the farmers multiply the cassava plant using the cut stems! That still blows my mind! Thank you Efa!!!!🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️

I wonder too. I know this is called Bankye mole in Ghana (I stand to be corrected) and fufu in Nigeria/Cameroon but I never knew it was referred to as fufu in Ghana. I also always thought that Ghana fufu was only boiled plantain and cassava pounded together. But guess what? In Côte d'Ivoire foufou (fufu) is mashed boiled plantain with palm oil and salt. Africa is just beautiful ❤

Thank you I am Ga and I can relate so much with this particular recipe in that we bought the dough already made haha. This dish in particular feels like it's disappearing because I rarely see it anywhere, even when I visit back home. Kudos for keeping the tradition going Without the cloth to drain, can I just let drain the liquid when/if it settles on top? And do you recommend adding my own culture to further fortified the fermentation? Thanks!
