I think simply put, Nigeria happened to Ghana! Ghanaians spent so much time and energy arguing about who owned Afrobeats that they didn't realize that Nigeria was actually leaving them behind. The only difference I see between Nigeria and other African artists is the business mindset. It's more of a way of life thing to be money-focused as a Nigerian and frankly speaking, I don't see how conservative Ghana can imbibe this mentality quick enough

Ghanaian music has never really gained global popularity as you make it sound…Yes, their music was popular in West Africa countries, but because their artistes weren’t adventurous enough, Ghanaian music was never a global phenomenon…They never sold out arenas or stadiums and they never won major international awards…I grew up listening to Ghanaian music because it was popular in Nigeria, but they never made any global impact with their music…VIP was big in Nigeria those days, but their concerts outside west Africa were below average…. I can’t remember Ghana’s music leading African music on a global scale….

Simple solution with out paying me, 1st there problem is shatta wale, he came back and changed people from singing highlife to dancehall. He is the only one that can also change there music back bcos many musician in Ghana follow is lead. He should start singing highlife back or Afrobeat, Ghanians will jump on it and things might change back for them.

@chikeagbo3531Ай бұрын
I have been living in United States for a very long time, and until the reemergence of Afrobeat, African musicians have never dominated global music charts…If you are talking about topping charts in Africa in past, that’s okay, but it was never on a global scale…I truly understand what you’re doing, you are a content creator who understands that Ghanaians believe so much in “we used to be or we used to have “, so you decided to massage their egos just to balance your content…I get it…Azonto was basically a dance challenge that trended, but never topped charts in USA, UK, or Canada…We have some African musicians who were widely known in Africa and a few western countries in the past , but their music never topped global charts…Nigerian artistes deliberately took African music to the global stage…Never in the history of African music has it been celebrated like it is being celebrated today, credit to Afrobeat and Nigerian musicians….Enjoy your day…
@Daseeker4895Ай бұрын
It is not about not having many artist. Ghanaians has continually overrated their abilities and capacity, then they'll make bad choices, that's one of their beigest problem. For example, From ban Nigerian music to play Ghana 100%, Blacko is still suffering today for that,; Shatta Wale insulted Nigerians, their movie industry demanding more money from Nigerians, and the list goes on. Until they understand that Nigerians and Nigeria is the vehicle that would bring them to that place, they'll continue to lag behind.
