That is what enigma is. In the end it is God who will judge him. God's thinking is not human thinking. God judges the heart. Humans judge by appearances. In a revolution people get killed. Justifiably or not. Some people calling themselves Christians love to hate. The first responsibility of a Christian is to forgive. God forgave when we did not even repent or ask for forgiveness. We can begin by praying for our enemies then God will give us the Grace suddenly to forgive with great ease and freedom. God bless you JJ for all those you helped. Rest in eternal and perfect peace. Amen.

Lilibert Nyasunu Revolution for what? He just sat up there and became a dictator. And only fools forgive unrepentant people. That makes you an enabler of evil not a saint. Even though you'd like to make it seem that way. People should feel the heaviness and sorrow of what he did. Where is this forgiveness attitude in everyday life? It's only brought up for certain people

This episode seems to confuse the june 4th june to 31st December. In 1979 there was no president. It was the SMC 2. Mr. Producer kindly check your facts and correct the episode. Rawlings saying president and his vice together with parliament has been taken out of power smarks an erroneous impression.

@@fiifijnr4666 that he commited treason That he was an illégal citizen, that he was suppose to go to prison instead of becoming president. That the PNDC was never investigated. That he sold state enterprises and for nineteen years he could not replace even one of them. That he killed people for nothing and protected himself with the indemnite clause. We can say he did a lot of bad things due to how they gained power. Jst name a country led by a coupe regime doing well for the country. None. So let’s appreciate him for the good he did even though he made a lot of mistakes as a leader.

@@forevermine8008i hope you are naive and i am stupid. In the history of coup d'états in ghana, they all have slogan "" CURRUPTION "" and when they seize power, they do worse than ever.in 1979, rawlings and his people lined up generals and former heads of states and killed them because they were currupt and the two heads of states were accused of treason punishable by death. He wasn't a ""SAINT "" as you said so why come back in 1981??????. For all the leaders who came before rawlings, none of them tempered with state property Rawlings sold all of them instead of improving upon them. For 19 years in office, he could't replace even one of them. To close our eyes we say he was not a saint. What a stupid nation we are. When JJ RAWLINGS started getting ill , first was his wife, who was on medical attention in switzerland. Then rawlings himself did go on medical treatment in switzerland using a name called """PAUL GYAMFI "" but some of you simply refuse to consult your brains that is why ghana is a failed nation today. Can you tell me what rawlings did for ghana ?.The percentage given to ghana's natural resources at Acheampong's era was 51% but the former head of state was killed like a dog "" excuse my words and with all respect for the family "" if you know of a project that rawlings brought or did in ghana that Kwame nkrumah had not already done let me know. We are a failed nation today.

@@jameshanson5561 , You're too bitter. How could you say that a .man who ruled Ghana for almost 20 years did not accomplished anything. Unbelievable. Even, with the projects we saw him executing in this particular video with Ghanaians. Yet,you said he did nothing. Moreso, what's the state of the country he inherited in terms of it's economy, foreign and external reserves, debt profile, the level of internally generated revenue, the level of workforce etc. For instance, Ghana was almost on the verge of bankruptcy when he took over. Probably, with less or no savings left to run the country and maybe the amount of debt own. He might inherit funds that can just sustain only the workforce and not to finance infrastructural development and maybe unable to obtain loan from international monetary institutions due to funds previously owed by Ghana or nothing can be placed by Ghana as collateral or he might think is needless to gamble with Ghana assert and future as collaterals, then he'll depend only on internally generated revenue to be running the country. And in such situations, the most important thing will be to keep the country afloat to ensure it doesn't collapse. While, trying to explore other avenues to raise funds that will be used to finance other developmental projects. And if such opportunity fail to come then youll realized that to keep such country afloat for almost 20 years without a complete collapse is one of the greatest accomplishment. Bcos not only that he stabilised the country but he has also laid a solid foundation for rapid economic growth whenever the opportunity arises..Though,he might no longer be the President then. Furthermore, those he executed was for corruption and failed coup attempt. The latter is lawful and constitutional. So how did he committed a crime for the execution of coup plotters,, an action backed by the constitution. Then on corruption. I'll love and support African countries to ensure that Corruption is punishable by death. Either death by hanging or public execution. China is developed, advanced, wealthy and a superpower due to the fact that corruption is death penalty. That's the precedent JJ Rawlings wanted to set but we Africans fail to emulate that, just like China bcos we so much attach value to life even when it is detrimental to our very existence as human beings. Am sorry my comments is overly long,I just want to break it down in layman's language. Thanks and God bless you.

One thing that seems to have been lost on us is the role of external factors in our economy. Indeed the oil price shocks of 1974 & 1979 created economic problems for non-oil producing countries such as Ghana. Prices of imports rose inducing hyper-inflation, scarcity of goods, imbalances, general impoverishment. The government then could be cited for mismanagement. All the Generals who had staged coups in 1972 & 1966 became scapegoats. That is why some of the 'revolutionaries' fell at odds with Jerry for the 31st December coup with the follow-up IMF policies & prescriptions. We need to look at all causative problems carefully lest we adopt wrongs solutions, however populist. By the way, price controls, bombing of markets, whipping of market women may have brought temporary relief in the early days of the 'revo' to many.
