I’m here in Florida and I’m a single woman and I am really thinking about moving to Kenya.

@@joannaschristianscorner1270 Thanks for your comment. If you don’t know of Jamtours already you can reach out to him as he has established a network of people in the diaspora & is helping them in Nairobi. As a Jamaican brother myself he seems very alright. Just be aware of Kenya itself , politically & tribal unease. There seems to be yearly protests in Nairobi where many civilians are killed by police. Don’t let this change your mind if you haven’t gone there already maybe visit first & see how you feel there.

We went to Ghana to visit for the first time and on our way to Togo and Denin the Police stopped us about a dozen times and always shaking the bus driver for money. Be careful.

Ugo it’s all true what you’re saying. I live between there and us, most times I spend 10 months out of the year in ghana. I do use the Jamaican passport to get in and come back on us passport they don’t give me issues. You present only jm book to only don’t show others then present both when leaving. You’re right on the corruption and how they want people’s things. But the truth is that they are no different than Jamaicans in those ways, plus with Jamaicans you’re getting daily aggression and hostility. The ghanaaians are calm so even if they’re chopping you’re money like we do in ja they do it calmly. The place is okay to live abd you just have to Becareful so they don’t overcharge you or try to take what you have. I had a trusted mechanic in pokuase for 2 years abd last week when the tire bursts, he charge 900gh to two tires abd then 200 gh to fix. I thought it was so reasonable bc the rest of them rip me off. When I went with the local to the tire place first before we got the car, it turned out, he had already added 200 extra on each tire, so they all do that when you’re a foreigner. But ugo, I don’t know which is better or worst, bc they stick together that is Jamaicans have never been able to do. And that in itself promotes more unity and keeps the place calm

Any country you go, if you're a visitor, you don't want to go to the slum areas, and Kibera is one of those slums. As a tourist, I personally would not go there. I am sorry what happened to you in Kenya; however, corruption is everywhere in this world, including Europe, especially as a black person. In the U.S., in the deep South, someplaces you don't even want to go. Try living in the U.S. as a black person, that's another bag of worms (figuratively speaking).
