Hey guys! I'm so excited that I've been able to upload my second vlog in one day after all the upload issues I've been experiencing! Anyway, this video is of our trip to the Cape Coast, and our tour of the Cape Coast Castle, which was instrumental during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. This tour was definitely an eye-opening experience and we left not feeling the same as when we arrived, because it's one this to read about it, and watch videos, but its another thing to walk the same path of those who suffered as a result of the Slave Trade. This was history in real life! I certainly recommend this to any of my fellow Ghanaians both in Ghana and abroad and anyone who gets the opportunity to visit Ghana! I hope this video allows you to experience a little bit of what we did on that tour! xoxo

My Ghanaian husband thinks I am crazy because I am crying like a baby. I haven't visited yet but he doesn't want to take me when I do go. He knows I am going to be on the floor weeping.

That tour guide is excellent! I couldn't believe I cried! Im Senegal American and there is a similar castle in Senegal West Africa call Goree Island and it was also used the same way! I went their as a child . I look forward to one day taking my kids, husband from Haiti and friends from the Caribbean back to Africa!

I, too, visited this 'slave castle' back in November 2015 and it was such a life changing experience. 2 things that actually made me emotional that I didn't see in your video are the Book of Comments from recent visitors, and the museum located on the 2nd floor that is a replica of a slave ship. My friends had to actually walk me out, I was actually able to physically touch slave shackles that were hanging from the wall. I NEVER felt so many emotions rushing through my body in my LIFE. Great video, but it is so worth it if you visited this facility in person, it is quite an experience indeed. Thanks for sharing!

+wjt1975 It really is quite an emotional experience!! And the museum was so real!!! We weren't allowed to film in there, hence I didn't show it. But you are right, it's definitely a place that needs to be experienced first hand

I was there last February with my friends and some other people from La Cote D'Ivoire, it was very sad and life changing experience. I became a French translator. Because all the French translators were absent that day. The slave is physically gone, but mental slavery( religion) is not gone. During the visit, I couldn't hold back my tears and up till date, I can't still let it go. They have to pay us (Africa) for the harm and atrocities that they committed against us.😭😭😭

Thanks for this vid. Sometimes we blind ourselves to our history and l learned a lot from this vid especially being Jamaican raised in the US and also being married to a Trinidadian man name Nukrumma Jomo. My teenage son plays basketball on a team were most of his teammates are from Ghana and his conditioning coach is also from Ghana. l would love to visit and take my children hopefully that will be my next family trip.

Thanx so much for this sis. I love you. You added another special touch from the Lord on my birthday today, which i spent with Him. My father is african american and my mother is native american born of cherokee indian tribe. So my ancestors on both sides have experienced the horrid and painful reality of being captured, traded and abused as slaves. May all of our ancestors be liberated and rest in peace...and may we as a people learn to exemplify the true meaning of Charity.

Humankind has done so much atrocities throughout history and till today we're not learning form the mistakes of the past. There's still slavery, still torture and abuse of people and children all over the world. Men is biggest mistake of nature. Hopefully our mother (nature) she will take her revenge one day. I'm sure she will the only question is when.
