Liked waakye I ate in Ghana this year never really liked it before though but that was outside Ghana . I think it depends on who cooked it. I grew to love it.

Katamfe/Thaumatin (Thaumatococcus daniellii Benth) is what waakye and other foods were/are largely packaged in. It's a lot sturdier than the average plantain or banana leaf and has a unique scent/flavour that intensifies and spreads to the food when it comes into contact with heat from said food
