It is difficult to compare them because they have different styles of singing. Because of Hindi, Rafi became more popular though there are more genres in Telugu like drama poems, poems etc. Even Latha Mangeshkar"s recital of the Gita is not as as popular and as effective as Ghantasala's recital. Rafi's voice is undoubtedly softer and Ghantasala's voice is resounding. So if the song needs commanding voice, Ghantasala is the right choice but if it needs a soft touch either Rafi or Balu are the immediate choice
