The song is clearly drawing comparison of Roop (girl in white) with Sita and Safir (hot dude in red) with Rama. In the beginning you see Roop step over a line of fire, and as she is singing about wanting her lover to return (the theme of the song) Safir seems to be suddenly drawn to where she is. Sadly the rest of the movie is, IMO, not even half as good as this song. Alia Bhatt did have to train for the dancing in this scene and she totally nailed it IMO!

Ravan is not a demon. He is the king of Lanka and he abducts seetha to avenge his sister whose nose and ears were cut of by lakshman, ram’s brother. He is a negative character in ramayanam but not exactly a demon.
