Ghat Drive from Khopoli to Lonavala - Old Mumbai Pune Highway Monsoon Coverage

Enjoy a timelapse (3x speed) of a monsoon ghat drive along the old Mumbai - Pune Highway (National Highway 48) from Khopoli to Lonavala.
We start at the outskirts of Khopoli town and soon start climbing up the ghat. It is quite steep in places and curvy too. It was originally a one way ghat (the coming down road is separate), but nowadays most people use it in both directions. After sometime we join the Mumbai - Pune Expressway for a common section of the ghat. Soon after passing through the Khandala Tunnel, we exit the Expressway and continue on the Old Highway towards Lonavala.

At 3:07 you moved to express way road. Can you tell if it is an common stretch and bikes are allowed?

Basically I want to avoid this steep ghat coming from Mumbai to Pune. From Pune to Mumbai, we can get on common stretch and avoid it.

At the same point I wanted to stick to Old mum-pune highway....But had to enter Main highway(instructions are not clear at this turn) And it costed me 240 rs toll extra from khopoli to pune😭😭

Hi Rishad, at which gear u drive car in this ghat?? 2nd 3rd or 4th??? Specially on upper turning points?? And what is average gear should be use in ghats??

Hello. Initially on the old highway keep changing between 2nd and 3rd. On the steep sharp curves and while overtaking for more power then 2nd. Once joined the expressway and pick up speed then even went upto 5th.
