Iqbal Bano was one of the great singers that my generation has been fortunate to have seen and heard. This is one of her best and it would be enough to say that she has done justice to Ghalib- who was to say the least in a class of his own. Brilliant!

This is one of my favourite Ghazal so beautifully sung by Iqbal Bano. Although I had the pleasure to listen to it so many times, still it's impact on my emotional settings is so deep and everlasting that I'm never tired of hearing this in the voice of Iqbal Bano, one of the greatest ghazal singers of her times.

not every one can sing ghalib..or should even try to. i know this may sound very mean and reticent, as if i am his literary agent, but i really feel that his poetry is so sublime that justice to it can be done only by very few and truly great singers like iqbal bano whose rendition is not only superb...but perfect. i hope those offended by my strict opinion will forgive me.
