I'm not one of those women who thinks Men should never cry cuz it shows "weakness" or blah blah blah... but let's keep it a stack, Benzino looked sad & pathetic sloppily crying on that show, over beef that happened 20+ yrs ago. 🙄 It was a MESS. I'm sure it must suck always getting asked about & reminded of the moment in his life when his publication came crashing down from it's respected position at the top of the Hip Hop world... but if anybody is familiar w/what happened at The Source Magazine or of the beef w/Eminem, you know that it was Benzino's own f*ckin fault that the magazine stopped being respected the way that it had been... and it wasn't JUST because him & Em were beefing. It was because Benzino was using his very popular & powerful platform, to disrespect Em for NO f*ckin reason, purposefully giving his albums lower grades than they deserved, but then turning around & giving 5🎤's to these obscure bands that Benzino was managing, that nobody cared about, and that didn't deserve it at all. Even people who didn't like Eminem & thought he was corny, could TELL that Benzino was being unfair & unprofessional AF. Which made folks start to question **other** albums that might have been undercut at the magazine, due to personal issues it's owner might have had w/certain artists. How can you trust the magazine as "the Bible" for all things Hip Hop, when you know its being ran like that?! Also, it didn't help that he came at Em 1st for no reason other than he was a white rapper who actually had some talent & was becoming successful. Again, even people who didn't like Em's music, still thought that sh*t was unfair, cuz the magazine is supposed to critique artists based on their TALENT... not on the owner's personal f*ckin feelings about somebody. Benzino was lame for that sh*t, period! 🤷🏻‍♀️🫤 Bottom line: people stopped trusting The Source, after all the beef went down, cuz it exposed how poorly Benzino was running the company. And all of that allowed other publications (ie: XXL) to come in & take over, since they were clearly more professional & didn't have a bunch of hidden agendas behind the scenes. Yeah Eminem hurt Benzino's pride w/his diss tracks... but it was Benzino's OWN fault that his magazine lost all credibility, and that's f*ckin facts. No point in crying over it now, ffs.
