I was just thinking about how Pinson reminds me of Higgins in this joyfulness in playing that he projects, and something about his feel, that sort of hip clunkiness, and so I googled, and of course he studied with Billy. I first heard him subbing with Kamasi's band at Pasadena Levitt in 2013... definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen.

In cumulation it sounds like new generated guitar playing. Very courageous, very committed, very detached from the previous styles. This bass- and drumplayers have their part on it. So this trio found a new way with remindings on the jazzers before, in this case Pat Matheny. Thank you, mates.
