Dude I totally agree with you, this would have been a great way to grind and make money but the fact we can only do it once a week ruins it. I just found out minutes before this video - these missions are Weekly Tunables, with a possible 100 cars to steal. There is the currently unused feature that allows us to buy the cars we steal for a discount, rather than Sell or Salvage, meaning this DLC is a new avenue for R* to offer vaulted cars. I get that - but if they could actually allow us to replay the mission within that week after we've decided what to do with the car from that Robbery, but not "re-steal" the car that week with a fixed smaller payout until the next week, that would be more user-friendly for people who want to play the missions themselves. Furthermore, I'm really hoping they can offer all 5 Robberies each week down the line, and they're just limiting for the opening weeks - but the current UI doesn't fill me with hope.

That's the lore reason - the game design reason is; no fucking way are R* gonna offer us these cars for free.

What's even worse is that for the career progress you need to complete these doing all the challenges but if you mess them up and fail one of the challenges then now you have to wait who knows how long in order for the same robbery to come back around just to get one more attempt. I'm very dissapointed in this DLC. The Autoshop was a much better one for a grinder and as a car guy it gave us much more. I've made around 35 million on the contract board missions. But the added drift package on certain cars for people to drift is bloody brilliant and i have had a huge blast last couple days driving more sideways then in a strait line😅😂

The only way I can forsee this being forgivable is if these mission thefts are all tying into some big finale theft. A culmination of events if you will. And then after all the dripfeed is done, it allows you to replay all these thefts in order to replay the finale again without the week long waits

Im hoping R* is still working on the new missions for next week and theyre going to keep it like this until they have enough to make it a daily rotation. These missions seem like they have a lot more thought behind them compared to the mercenaries update. This dlc didnt even have a title or trailer until after it was released they probably dont have enough ppl working on this and the ones that are are seem to be trying their best to give us something different. Dont forget we have a possible heist coming soon that doesnt even involve stealing cars plus holiday content.

The Autoshop contracts have little to no cooldown & they have the exact same payouts or similar to the salvage yard robberies, there is no reason there should be a week long cooldown for the new missions. I’d like them to be repeatable with the same payouts.

One crucial thing that no one seems to mention is that I’m pretty sure in both the newswire posts from before the update came out and Yusif himself in one of the cutscenes says that you have the option of keeping the cars for yourself, but yet that feature is nowhere to be seen. Something like that would actually justify only being able to do these missions one time, but no, we can only sell up for around $340k at the maximum. Thanks R*…

The auto shop is worth it because you can not only redo the contracts but the contracts will quickly repay you for what you spent on the shop. Same with the agency. I did the cargo ship robbery and once i went into the scrap yard to deliver the Weevil, the game glitched and teleported me outside, i wasn't able to use any vehicles cuz i would get kicked out, and as a result of me "not finishing" the mission, i can't even redo the robbery neither i can sell the car. can't do any other robbery missions because of this "glitch", tried talking to rockstar and even they can't fix it, big L.

Bro there are more missions coming out and you will be able to buy the cars you steal at a discounted price, also the tow truck missions are good and the safe is a solid passive. And the insensitive is to do other missions or jobs because there are literally thousands of things you can do in online so you don’t get stuck grinding the same thing over and over again. That’s my take at least. They have always been bad at giving all the details on a product but if you can buy the cars you steal for a discount in the future then that more than makes up for the time gate imo. Also I wrote this during the early part of the video so I 100% agree with the end of the video, I think they have more planned.

Everyone's hating on GTA Online because "wah 10 years no game" I hope you're all ready for this to be dialed up to 11 in GTA 6. Soon to enter a new R* title with time gated content, battle passes, an item shop, and any method to nickel and dime people. GTA V was one of the few surviving games from a bygone era, back when games were still games and not seasonal schlops of garbage to pad out the retention rate for investors. Fight back or get used to it now. It's gonna be much worse later. The topic in this video may "not be it" because GTA V players are all used to playing a game with old practices. But it IS it in terms of the 2023 gaming trends, and R* is just copying the trends other devs are making standard.

If the target vehicles and earnings would lower and you could repeat the same missions, then I would feel more inclined to agree but holding them back each week is a bit of a pisstake. Sure, if you do them with the time trials and tow truck missions, that's potentially 1.5 to 2mil a week for passive players, but that's still unfair on active players.

I just bought the salvage yard twice with my 2nd characte and i get 6 roberries a week. I only get about 2 or 3 hours a day to play. So I can steal a car a day and do other activities and these car robberies will last me all week

Tow truck part of the business is simple and fun for now, this will change soon as a developer gets the bright idea of cutting the already nice 💩 pay then stamping a 244 minute cool down in the name of balancing. Thanks for this post GhillieMaster. I needed that, didn't know that I needed that.

The only reason why I liked grinding in GTA was because the cooldowns weren’t that bad to wait then they just made all the cooldowns longer and now it’s ass to grind

I think the reason for only one time each is because once you can keep the car from the robberies you will be able to sell the one you already own. So if you own a Wevil or Neo or Hellfire or whatever. You can keep the one you stole and sell off the one you had already. Same as Podium vehicles or LS meet challenges vehicles. You can sell off the cars you own after winning them.

I couldn't believe this decision when I saw it. I thought, since it doesn't let me see the elite challenge requirements before the mission, that I'd do a quick playthrough of all of them and then come back to do the elite challenges. Boy was I disappointed.
