I give some tips for general air combat in the Starling. These are things that everyone should know if they want to get better at dogfighting or just flying the Starling around.

Lol, I don't even try to land the Starling. The best way is to just kamikaze straight into the blue circle of your hangar and you'll be good.

Another good way to land the more "traditional" way is to pull the plane up before it touches the ground until the plane touches the ground on its own as a result of slowing down. Essentially the boost regen trick closer the ground and may help people go into their hangar faster.

Nice to see my usual landing method in this video (the first one). Also don't forget that the Starling is the only jet where using your rudder and being in a 45 degree bank wont give you the smallest possible turning circle. Instead feather the boost while using only elevators in 90 degrees of bank. This would kill me the first time I tried to use it in a dogfight.

Fox McCloud 007 Exactly right. The Starling's main cutoff turn happens when you start to go downward and glide. It's crazy.

Just fly in a circle at a 90 degree angle low to the ground until it stalls, then quickly level out and the landing will be orgasmic

Since the nerf for the Lazer's and Hydra's explosive cannons any semi-skilled Starling pilot basically has become untouchable for other jets. I really don't understand why still such a few people use it.

I love starling for being a glider; it can fly normally eothout the boost, unlike any other plane in the game where if you shut down the engine you become a big peace of mefal in the sky. Id love to see a glider being added to the game, which could be towed by another plane. A perfect stealth plane imo

Jakob Kavčič There is a way to glide with almost any plane. Go into a knife flight and use your yaw ailerons as if they were the pitch ailerons and vice versa.

thanks I need a starling guide as I've finally bought one. I grounded someone (in a B-11?) in my new starling, they eventually came back in their starling and he finally grounded me (over mil base) after about 2 minutes of dogfighting. I was def using too much boost... hindsight 20/20 i was constantly losing the agility by boosting. So the winner will be the person who doesn't start boosting out of frustration in a long drawn out turning fight.

I hardly even get into dogfights anymore, my glorydays in the rogue when smugglers run just came out and there were jets everywhere are long gone sadly. If I run into a jet nowadays it's always a lazer or a hydra, and it's just not worth getting a jet of my own when 2 explosive sniper rounds work just as well, if not better. Kind of a shame really.

Personally your best chance is to fly like a lunatic. I recommend spamming countermeasures and flying in an unpredictable manner, get close shaves to builds and bridges. Essentially you want to make the off radar pilot break off or crash in an object. But its its an off radar aircraft with explosive rounds/Cannons? You just gotta hope that they are noob enough to miss all their shots.

I'm still kinda new to this game. Level 126, and my only vehicles are Bati 801, MOC, and the Buzzard. I own a cocaine lockup (with upgrades), a bunker (no upgrades yet), CEO office, Hangar, and Vehicle warehouse. Should I save up for the new update, or buy a vehichle like the Stromberg, Vigilante, Deluxo, Oppresor, Starling, etc. Pretty much when a tryhard or griefer come after me I can't really fight back because they are in jets abusing passive mode, using a deluxo, or players ganging up on me and using off radar. I always have to retreat and drive around in my MOC... I'm still trying to unlock explosive rounds on the heavy sniper rifle which can help alot with jets and maybe deluxos. blue, get mc businesses (cocaine is best) and a bunker.. buy supplies for all of them and grind vehicle warehouse and vip missions until all the supplies are gone, thats the best way to make money that i have found in my 4000 hours of playing gta if you really grind hard you can make 100 mil in 4 weeks. also the vehicles i recommend getting are the savage (op if you can actually fly) vigilante (ruins opressors) and the starling (all around good vehicle.. which is pretty obvious if you watch ghillie)

You already got some good properties, well i recomend taking advantage of the 2x faster bunker research and try to get first a Exp Heavy Sniper and you can choose bettwen air vehicles (Rougue because its cheap price, explosive cannons and some buzzard missiles or an akula witch can turn on stealth mode for escaping or bombing, has the option of barrage missiles or homing missiles and overall its pretty agile) and ground vehicles like the apc, a opressor(that can be used in air too) or a insurgent(cheap price and good resistance)

Pretty much everyone said it's terrible for dogfighting because of either overvaluing Cannons/undervaluing MGs, or "It can't get behind a Lazer." Pyrerealm has a lot of cases of obviously not knowing what he's talking about, like with the GP1 (he called it a good race car, despite being waaaay off the pace), saying the Dune FAV is good, among others.

You can kinda automatically land the Starling by switching to the bomb-camera view and setting down your controller. The plane will slow down to a crawl in-flight, and then gently drop to the ground.

Great guide Chillie but there are more points in my opinion. - How to kill players on ground. - Left and right rocket aim. - How to react if they like to shoot u with explo. - Best way to use boost against rocket lauchner (ground). - How to deal with a savage (hit box...). - How to bomb (aircrafts and people). - When u should get a new starling if its buring (back). - ECM Starling vs Flares. (ECM cause of noob car and bike) - Hard and long fight against other starling or pyro. - Get away if theres an avenger (own risk /should be clear). May theres a part two or a full starling guide. Jason Cooper Yes. Get a (glitched) Nightvision and put the Helmet over it, and save the Outfit. Then just equip it a splitsecond before you enter a vehicle, and activate the nightvision.. It gives you the Thermal. I have 2 Clips at the start of my newest Video with it

Daniel DAM It's the Nightvision, just without the Black-Ski mask which is under it. The Glitched one it's only the goggles, and you head is as smooth as a babys ass, no matter what hair your Dude normally has. I don't know if it's requiered for the glitch, i guess it is *not* But i used it nonetheless

The Starling can be landed very similar to other Aircraft but it takes awhile to bleed its speed off. Once you bleed the speed off, you can bring it down gently, do a landing flare, and touch down without a bounce.

I recommend you to 90% of the people on xbox, have you heared of a streamer call xccxbby, she goes around orbitaling people with high k/d ratios leaving,joining, and repeating. Never actually fights without passive popping. It's a shame that gta is now people who use in game exploits so much to the point it's like they do nothing at all and get kills. Like, how is it even fun? Plus if your in passive than that just says that your bad, that is unless your just a low level using it to actually be passive. Rock star needs to change it to where you only get a certain amount of passive uses per lobby and if you kill someone you can't go passive for a least 10 minutes.

If you want to land go very low against the runway and pull up with the brakes on, you will stall and eventually will land and brake pretty fast

Hey ghillie A friend of mine said that I am one of the best pilots in the starling he has ever seen, he said he thinks I might even be able to beat you! I really feel honored that he said that! It's so sad that pc/Ps4/Xbox1 cross platform is not a thing, I really would like a friendly dogfight with you and if I am really that good how he thinks I am it would be a really really long dogfight :D

I finally know how to land my starling like I try to land and it is like trying to stop bouncing on a trampoline by just but with your technique I don’t have that worry anymore lol 😂

It's hard to respect people now days. The reason being is because they fight with their mouth until it starts foaming. Picture a very angry animal with rabies and that is what they loOk fighting with no honor and no real cause. Just a destructive instinct very desperately to be at the top of the food chain because they feel very weak inside. Anyone can talk trash or be trash like a "TryHard".. I do NOT think that is the REAL challenge in life. The real challenge is to be #1 but remain humble enough to wanna help your brother or sister be there with you and NOT instead to crush them in any way possible, feed your own ego and have the masses worship you as a God of sorts. Anyway, the reason why I bring this up bro is because I appreciate your vids. Because they have a real message and real substance in them. You're giving the GTA 5 community something to admire and respect. I see the honor in your work, the honor in your fight and the integrity you carry yourself with. Therefore hats off for you my friend and hope you keep up the good work. I just feel it is important to recognize not only how good you are but the cause behind it that makes you worthy following. I'm sure all the people the follow you feel that same way. I'll end this by sharing a quote straigh from the book of "The Art Of War" that makes plenty of sense to me and highlights the point of my message. 3:08 I would suggest to go on side with your boost. Jet having troubles to aim at sides unless they roll... and if they are prepared next time and rolling, then you can go upwards or down

Honestly, Ghilie's crew members honestly need to chill the fuck out, not Ghillie himself, but the members. I usually see them killing anyone who doesn't have the MSTR tag including me and I've told them I am friendly but they continue.

Plus, the videos where Ghillie is alone fighting a group of tryhards (winning at that) is fun to watch. I don't know about you all, but that's where his charm came in, where he didn't have a thousand multi colored blue outlines surrounding him. I believe it should be where it was and the occasional one where a friend or two are with him for guides or the PVP fight, except Adversary Modes like the Motor Wars video

rockstar should make a new jet where it has air to ground missle and unlimted flairs and a armour upgrade to atleast 5 rockets/homing and 10 explosive sniper bullets and can go stealth and drop bombs and have a explosive cannon and hellfire missles :)
