Ghost In The Shell - Opening (Playstation / Upscale)

I made an upscale of the opening of "Ghost In The Shell" Playstation game (1997). Directed by Hiroyuki Kitakubo (Blood, Robot Carnival) with Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop) as animation director at Production IG.
Key animators : Toshiyuki Inoue, Mitsuo Iso, Yoh Yoshinari, Ko Yoshinari, Koichi Arai, Hisashi Ezura, Yasushi Muraki, and Toshihiro Kawamoto.
AI models used : LD-Anime & ReFocus Cleanly

I love this intro so much, is the only animated Ghost in the Shell that actually use the art style of Masamune Shirow, I would love a whole series in this style.

Funny that I happen upon this comment, did you see that science saru are working on a Ghost in the shell anime? Teaser showed manga panels so it's assumed right now it's going to be closer to the manga, least in terms of style.

If, by any chance, you are interested in material animated in the style of Masamune Shirow, might I recommend you look up the OVA M66 Black Magic? It is an adaption of one of his earlier works I believe and definitly animated in his specific style.

I used to play the demo all the time. Funny thing is that the game select screen on that demo was such a kaleidoscopic clusterfuck that I would always just hit start on the first game (this game) immediately. Thus it wasn't until 20 years later that I realized the demo had other games.

You did great job! PS1 games have so much beautiful anime intros, but image quality is stuck in PS1's poor limitation. I wish tales of series, summon night, popolocrois, suikoden, wild arms 2....also lot of anime intros get this wonderful upscale.

Looks amazing. Fine edge quality and temporal stability are superb. Was the source just the 320x240 version from the game? That was the best quality I can pull from anywhere. Still one of my favorite intros.
