Impact had its chance to compete with WWE but instead brought HulK Hogan and Eric Bishoff in and it was never worth the money TNA spent. The day has come and long gone that TNA will ever compete with WWE

Honestly, I don't think the six-sided ring made Impact any better. It was the storylines and wrestlers that made it great back then, not the ring. Plus the wrestlers hated working in the six-sided ring.

The six-sided ring has nothing to do improving the quality of the wrestling or the talent of the wrestlers. Instead of imagining some fantasy about Impact needing to go "back to their roots", maybe remember how much that six-sided ring ultimately had to do with TNA's success as a company. You'd think that they'd have kept it or brought it back if it made for better wrestling. 🤔 And Impact is already an alternative to both WWE and AEW (so are NWA and NWJP and GCW and PWG and oh so many more). Or, if we're open-minded about things...fans of professional wrestling don't need to pick a single favorite promotion over others; they can watch what they want from any of them.
