Yeah it was nice every once and a while to shut my brain off and listen to you play the game and enjoy it for what it is like you did with God of War, Spiderman, and the first time you did It Takes Two. I'll always love what the main channel has evolved into, but I also REALLY enjoy these long-form videos of just dicking around and playing a game. I think this went over a lot of people's head, but Appsro agreed once he understood Neebs was making a point and not just being stupid. In present day, Jin is the wounded bear who is now desperate and more dangerous

I had heard really good things about this game (including from Appsro himself on the podcast) but since I was never the biggest fan of the samurai aesthetic I didn't pay much attention to it. Neebs there are loads of names like bowman. It starres in uk when settlements became large and there was a load of people with the same 1st name. They added the trade (which was prob passed thro family generations too) Butcher baker cartwright falkener etc etc

Those shoulder pads are called Sode. They are shaped and tied like that because Samurai would use bows and spears more often than a tachi. The tachi was a last ditch kind of weapon, very rarely used in actual war/battles. They (sode) freely rotate to the back because a yumi bow is huge and they draw very different than a english longbow or a chinese/mongol recurve. Your shoulder and arm are higher up compared to drawing any other bow.

But you're forgetting that it's primarily a "shield" -- used to deflect or absorb slashing strikes. And you wear it on your shoulder (instead of a forearm) because when you use it you're perfectly set up for a two-handed sword slash! (Also, you get the shoulder shield when you can't afford to a full suit of that kind of 'armor'.)

The internals of the sheath are similar to Sakais, like normal sheath inside with a decorative overlay so the sword is sitting snugly as it should be.

The wide scabbards with fur on them are not the wide shape for the actual sheath. It's a normal saya (scabbard) with the fur wrapped around it for protection (I think when traveling on horseback). So the sword isn't rattling around in the larger shape. You can Google fur shirizaya and see some bear and tiger skin examples.

After over 10 years of working in restaurants, on all levels including management. I just can't do eating out, at restaurants. It's zero value for money in my eyes. I just look at a meal & in my head go, okay this cost X to make, charging me XYZ and not worth it. It's just such a scam. Especially the "fancy" ones. At one point I worked in a mid range restaurant, we had a Peking duck risotto on the menu. We'd just go to the supermarket, buy a premade peaking duck for $24 at the time. We would charge, $30 for the meal. That $24 duck, was cut up & made into about 25 meals at $30 each. The duck was the most expensive part of each meal.
