I always thought Cardinal Copia had a Vincent Price thing going on. The thing you noted with the sound is a feature. Each album is a different era lore wise. At present we're at Papa Emeritus IV, who is the only frontman to technically make more than one album, as he's the ascended Cardinal Copia from the previous albums era. Obviously it's all Tobias but yeah. The only Papa that Tobias doesn't portray (in person, he's still the singer) is Nihil, young or old.

If you want some drama, you should listen to their other songs: Year Zero, Faith, Cirice o Mummy Dust. These songs are pretty intense and theatrical (in a good way, of course).

Oh, and the mask/persona thing starts looking very much like an early sign of Tobias' sense of showmanship if youve ever seen him, or heard him talk about it. He originally wanted to just be the guitar player, but nobody he asked wanted the frontman role. But Tobias by his own admission looks nothing how he saw the frontman looking at all. He's like, cute. As in cherubic. Still kinda has a baby face. And his personality is almost bubbly (just get him started on ABBA). So, he hides under the masks and plays the role. He'd still be the worst kept secret in music if it wasn't for the lawsuit making it legally official it's Tobias Forge.

Guitar is a Fantomen from Hagstrom. Ghost helped to design it. It's based on the Gibson RD, which Ghost used but those are rare. Ghost nails the 70's/80's rock - they remind me a bit of Blue Oyster Cult with their vibe, but this track borrows from Dio/Ozzy from the early 80's with a nod to the Flash harmonies from Queen. Ghost is really good at mining all the best bits.. Try Faith, Call Me Little Sunshine, Cirice or Spillways.

@@noitsnotme9036 it's not just about one thing. Tobias himself also made the social media connection in an interview. It's boradly about the propagation of toxic ideas and ideologies, so both religion and social media can be some of the channels for them
