The biggest issue I had with Wildlands was that the NPCs treated the whole squad as one single entity, instead of 4 different ones - meaning, if you split into 2 teams at opposite ends of an area and one team is spotted, the other team is spotted immediately too, no matter if they are inside a building or hiding in the bushes. Everything starts shooting at you. The fact that this simple oversight has never been fixed is such a shame.

Cuts both ways too. I remember the silent spade mission where after you interrogated the pilot you'd steal the heli - ordered the squad to sync shot the 3 unidad soldiers guarding it while I get the 4th. Weaver was literally just ducking in front of one of them but because I wasn't detected, he wasn't either lmao

I'm buying an Xbox series s for Black Friday and this was going to be the first game that I was going to get I've already played breakpoint on my PlayStation 4. If I do the no HUD and I mean completely no HUD, and say I pick a mission or get an objective is it still going to show up on a map like if I pull it up in a menu and look at the map and then I just have to kind of move my guy in that direction and just hope I'm heading in that direction? That way I got to keep checking the map like you would do in real life? I prefer not having anything on the screen while I'm playing I really like the immersion

The number one thing i love about this game is the npc squad. I love the little chatter they have with each other and nomad and it's very different from every game other then the Arkham series. Oh i also love how the cam zooms out when ur hosltered love the view and scenery

Amazing game. I just with the night & day cycle was a bit slower, and that the dead enemy bodies didn't disappear (and you could drag them to different locations). That would have made this the best game of all time for me.

After completing the game twice, sometimes me and some friends will just go into Tier One mode, no HUD and take down enemy bases and outposts together, trying it in all stealth and honestly it's very fun.

Not that big of a deal but on the map screen... the option to change it from normal to heat map (population based but resembles a night satellite image of the Bolivian map). It looks cool and, if you've beaten the game, it's useful in finding bases/population centers for, um, taking a walk.

I like the hud and minimap but turning off the clouds from the map really makes the game better and forces you to actually recon the area. I also do this in Far Cry as well. A tip I have is to try out all weapon types and different load outs. So don't just pick a sniper and an assault rifle and go with that combo the entire game. Try new weapons and different ways to approach locations.

I agree with everything you said, I would like to add: favor an assault rifle with the largest magazine option available (50 rounds mostly) over a LMG if you're going for the machinegunner role. The actual machineguns have way too much recoil and the devs didn't even bother to add a bipod mechanic

I just raided Carzitas house for the first time and took an LMG instead of an MP5 in case things got out of control. I also went from “casual street clothes operator” to full matching kit for the whole team when we do the last mission in a region

He is right. And I say more: turning off the HUD or most elements of it, will in virtue unlock a new game mode for you. Because you'll start playing the game in a very different way, you'll be more careful and tactical, and pay more attention to the environment. This was a great change for me who played most of the game vanilla and on easy or medium difficulty

I enjoyed this game back when it came out. I wound up running it a few times to 100% and even tried, and was sad to find you cant, to areest every single main story target instead of killing the kill ones. Its funny if you take the kill targets to a hide out you cant take them in, but you can execute them on the doorstep and then immediately join the follow on cutscene that talks about "Shame we couldn't take them alive."

Now I never comment on anything and I just have an account to just share stuff with friends but here's one thing I just love doing on Wildlands. After activating the final mission (On extreme mode with limited hud ofc) when Pac betrays you, abort the mission and the entirety of Bolivia is after you. It makes one helluva adventure when doing other missions. When you're on Ghost Mode, it pretty much forces you to clear out a rebel outpost if you want to access the ammo box to change up your loadout.

Great tips and video! I love the animations, the gear options, the survival aspects of Breakpoint, and the small AI improvements they did, but Wildlands is just a better game overall in my opinion. The ambience, the story, and above all the incredible map, with a lot of realistic looking urban areas, is just amazing. And indeed the less stuff you have activated in the UI - both in Wildlands and Breakpoint - specially the enemy markers and detection meter/sound, the better. It just reminds me of the first old school Ghost Recon games and how immersive it becomes. It’s stops being a game played on a UI with action behind it and it becomes an immersive experience where you need to actually be on your toes, to be tactical and careful, to listen to all the sounds to get spatial awareness regarding enemy position and allies, etc.

Idk why, but I always thought that classic heli controls just inverted the right stick to be more like a helicopter throttle. I didn't know that it completely revamped the controls to be more realistic. Totally trying that out.

They were actually the original controls, but I guess so much casual players complained about it that they added the new controls in an update, but made them the default flight controls. Many new players who joined as the game got better had no idea there was a better, more immersive option.

I still need to get some good days off so I can actually try to finish Ghost Mode. Already lost 2 saves (1 for 30hrs and another with 12ish) before, and have saved a 3rd I was playing on by July 2022. Damn, Wildlands in Extrem from the get go is amazing. The 1 gun + sidearm from Ghost mode makes it more interesting since for up close situations the pistol is my only reliable weapon since my primary I use it more as a mid range to open paths inside enemy positions before going in

Crosscom (hud tags) is a big part of Ghost Recon lore, that's what makes Ghost so effective. In the first book, it's Mitvhell who ask to his superiors to equip the whole squad with Crosscom instead of only the squad leader. You might appreciate playing without but remind yourself it's what makes the game different from other shooters.

Lol I always make my own “bomb trucks” and I’ve never played that mission. I strap a buck of explosives to a truck, keep getting more from ammo box, and putting more on. Detonate the c4 after jumping out and letting it roll forward

I don't know if you can still get it (I had the Gold Edition), but The Predator quest line was crazy. He killed me 20 times in the final faceoff before I was finally able to take him down. I think the starting was "The Jungle Moved" and it was somewhere in the East.

One thing that was great fun me and my brother once did while playing Wildlands together was we took a couple Anti Materiel Rifles went to a mountain pass not far from a UNIDAD base and sniped a car when it blew up and the reinforcements came running we would just one shot each car as it arrived when we finally ran out of sniper ammo and went in with assault rifles to clear survivors and secure the most recent car for exfil the place was full of dead bodies and burning cars it was fucking awesome.

Coop is fun, if everyone have the same gameplay though. Mostly than not, team you find by matchmaking just do their own thing without any consideration of what difficulty you are in or if your HUDs are on or off. Trying to get stealthy asf when clearing an entire Unidad base and then somebody just decided to throw a freaking grenade..

I gotta admit, I was ready to hear every one of your “10 things” I’ve already done, but nope, maybe one or two things I haven’t tried but the biggest one is the NPC trick. Wow, had this game from release date and I’ve never used any of this NPC trick, Nice man! Wildlands will always and forever be my No. 1 Ghost Recon series, at least until they make a better one than Wildlands. Break Point is such a disaster, an epic fail. I was so disappointed on so many lvls. 🤦‍♂️

Man classic helix controls takes me back to the beta and early days of the game. Back then every lobby you went into if you were half decent at flying you forced to be the pilot. The controls took a little to get used to but being able to perform barrel roles in a helicopter always gets the “how did you do that?” From the other players. Man it’s such a shame breakpoint came out as such a hollow game compared to wildlands because all I wanted for the sequel was wildlands on steroids.

I love Ghost Modes everything aside permadeath. This is coming from someone who got the gold exo suit. The reason I don't like it is because not only can the game be janky and buggy, I simply just want the features for a regular playthrough. I don't want 2 guns, I want loadout changing from crates, I want friendly fire. Just without permadeath. I do love grabbing my M40A5 and sniping in ghost mode, extreme, no hud. It's so much fun to RP in. I do like permadeath as an option, I just don't want it at all times.

A way around your dilemma is to create a backup save and reload when you die. The game will find ways to screw you eventually 😂

I agree. I wish you could play ghost mode without the permadeath. Sometimes I enjoy permadeath because it makes situations scarier, but it's a bit annoying that enemies know your exact position once they become wary.

Whats funny to me is that Splinter Cell Blacklist is basically Ghost Mode personified for Wildlands😂. Im completely new to the GR franchise and I never played or bought Wildlands, so I was looking up Wildlands videos and was super surprised to see people casually fixing their loadouts on the pause menu instead of going to loadout crates to refill like in I expected in Blaclist lol. Totally might try Ghost Mode for a 1st playthrough and if im brave enough, also on extreme difficulty

The only downside of this game is probably the firefights, or getting into one..the game is mostly stealth and it's a banger, but naturally sometimes rebels or the scripted firefights happen on the game and personally i think it is totally unfair on higher difficulties, enemies only know how to rush and don't use any given tactic, they seem to always know where you are unless you completely get out of the location or just outright kill everyone,if A buddy gets spotted the other team get's spotted and enemies usually take 5-6 shots on their body to die if you're on semiautomatic mode meanwhile you die from one shot that usually looks like 3 entire clips... But the game is fun, satisfying and immersive, as i said, the stealth is incredible and satisfying to complete flawless, pulling off kills and deciding when to kill since bodies don't disappear and can be spotted anytime.

I played wildlands on Ghost mode and tier mode, after playing on the easier modes. Boy am I telling you, the temptation to switch back to easier modes will never stop nagging at you, enemies have deadshot aim and it takes a long time to pinpoint all of them in a base with the recon drone😂😅

Kidnapping a Santa Blanca lieutenant and driving him to some secluded place then popping him in the back of the head made this game a 10/10

I miss not having the Blackhawks in Brokepoint and the sounds they made along with the sounds the "littlebirds" made. They should have added in more helicopters like the Huey and a few others. I used to play the life out of Mercenaries 2 because there were so many variants of the same helicopter that you could use differently. I'm also sad they didn't give us Nidia Flores as a playable character skin. I'd have loved to have seen her in Brokepoint with her same outfit ha ha.

I've played ghost mode if u wanna just copy the files for that save at whatever intervals u want and if u die shutoff ur game and load the old files over the new blank ones
