@@romeocortez3419 very realistic that makarov sneaks up on them, gets stabbed in the shoulder receiving a likely fatal injury before shooting soap and running away right before a train passes so no one can catch him. not to mention Gaz and Ghost get there immediately after soap dies to return fire so price doesn't die and they just choose not to shoot makarov but instead take down the goons first letting him get away. So real of the story to go this route compared to orignal MW3 so true.

I think people are unfair acting like his death is not emotional in this rendition, it is absolutely emotional especially for ghost. People made it seem like none of them cared at all rather than them just being caught up in the moment and having to diffuse the bomb after being in a high stress shootout with a bomb about to explode in literal seconds. Ghosts silence speaks volumes, the heavy breathy, the calling his name and putting a hand on his chest and taking his pulse despite him being very obviously dead and at the memorial clearly being on the verge of tears if not already crying. They made ghost tough in this rendition to make soaps death even more emotional, because he was ghosts person and ghost didn’t have shit before soap and they both brought something out in the other and it healed something in them and made the 141 stronger. You have the choice to either go straight to the bomb after soap dies or wait and have gaz sadly express that he’s gone, and they need to diffuse the bomb either way. The fact that ghost clearly doesn’t care about the bomb and is just in shock sitting by soap for a good 30 seconds speaks volumes as well. Price screamed multiple times when soap was shot before he was even dead, and people act like he had no reaction at all. It’s ridiculous. It’s just not as intense as the original but I think it isn’t BAD. Soaps death was absolutely rushed and they could’ve done better, but I think they intended to make the reactions a way that says “we still have a job to do, we’ve lost countless friends and team mates before this is nothing new, but soap was definitely special” and I think ghosts reaction, the serious man he is speaks for that. It was very emotional for him when in the past he didn’t seem to care much about anything but getting the job done. I think in this remaster they tried to combine all the AUs to make ghosts character so solid, you can interpret his comic back story and accept that he definitely has lots of past trauma even if not connected to the comic and og game, he’s a seasoned veteran who’s seen hundreds die including his own friends, he built up a wall. And with soap as he got closer to him made humor out of either of them dying, especially soap in a way thats supposed to empower soap and make him try harder, be more desensitized by ready, he was his mentor but not like he would mentor someone else, he was soft with him as if they were equals. And I don’t think he processed the possibility of soap dying until his death, it was just shock. He was a lone soldier before him, with a great big wall and soap to some extent was as well, and they softened each other. Their relationship in this game is not dissected nearly enough, it’s subtle and fast but it speaks volumes and shows how extremely important they were to each other

To the credit of the game developers and writers. how else would soap have died? I was crushed by this scene but now (don't take this for acceptance because I truly wish there was some way to bring him back) I understand. he didn't die in vain, either. he saved captain prices life, he inflicted a possibly fatal wound on Makarov and he is responsible for the defusal of the bomb saving all of the London ops, team 141 and hundreds if not thousands of civilians. he died a hero. Try to imagine soap, ghost, price or Gaz retiring somewhere in the mountains, maybe laying back to a more chill tech job in the city, or living the rest of their lives in paradise. that wouldn't happen whether they live or not. they have dedicated and committed their lives to defending the world against people like Makarov. In the end either they retire and let others take their place or they fight until there is nothing left to fight, or no fight left in them. I'm half expecting team 141 to break off after their contract is up and create their own entity to remove any red tape and restrictions that the governments they are under have. imagine that

I personally don't see the purpose of killing Soap in this, for plot I could understand but this is supposed to be a remake. Gaz already lives through two games unlike how his character was in cod4. Gaz has also changed race, so they're not afraid to keep or change shit. I personally don't see the point of havin him killed of but eh it is what is. Ghost also is also still alive despite appearing in one original game and then dying in the following missions. I don't know just me I guess.
