I agree the empress is lacking the symbology (and what do I know, I'm new to tarot) but I get what you mean. It feels like it's just a ghost sitting on a chair, it's not conveying much. The emperor is a little better, at least they brought over the rams. It's a nice deck, lo scarabeo makes a few I like, but I'm more into druid-type cards. I just got the wildwood tarot and the viking oracle, both are not that candy type look you get with a lot of tarot/oracle decks (I really don't like those kinds), I also don't like the modern ones that are trying too hard to please a society that has become overwhelmingly politically correct. I have seen some people complain in reviews about "oh yes well it's nice youput different skin colors but why no older people, why not this why not that?" Come on. If people start getting so picky they have to make their own cards. Good luck with that. Nevermind symbology, in my opinion that gets lost completely with the new cards in the styles I mentioned. There are newer decks that are heavy on symbology and really nice, they are far and few between though. I really love the wildwood. The artwork is amazing, there is so much to look at, especially in the major arcana cards. I think I will stick with that type of cards. Next one I want is celtic tree and I also saw one with plants. Oh, I found an oracle you might find interesting. I immediately thought of you and that I need to tell you about it. It has a creepy backstory which I think you will like. I'll have to find the link and I will edit my comment to add it Ok, just go to this website and look around a bit, but the deck I found interesting was the mildred payne one. It's so weird! And the back of the cards put together in the right way are a puzzle.... I kind of like this. Not my usual go-to but weird enough to catch my interest for sure. They also have some really cool tarot de marseilles (expensive though!) And the beast tarot is looking very interesting too! It's deviantmooninc.com I didn't like the decks of theirs I saw on amazon, they just didn't speak to me with those odd cartoon characters, but on their page they have so many cool ones. A samhain collection too. The only one remotely in my price range is milly. Even that is too expensive for me. But I thought I'd let you know whenever you are in the market for a strange deck 🙂
