I watched about fifteen seconds of the short and came to the full video immediately.

That’s so freaking cool, and it being on the side of a rock face makes it even cooler. I want to go into that place at the 2:46 min mark.

Pretty wild, huh? Not sure how they hauled all those materials up there. Yeah, that looks like a gnarly drop! 😅👍🏼

I’d be careful wandering into some of the mines, the air quality could be bad and you wouldn’t know until it was too late. The easiest way to figure out if you have enough oxygen is to bring some sort of torch, if it goes out get the heck outta there, but there could be other toxic gases in the air that could be missed by that. Just looking out for ya bud, love the content.

Thanks so much, Sarah. 🙏🏻 Absolutely, air quality was my #1 concern, which is why I didn't wander more than a few steps away from the mine entrance (as much as I wanted to go further). It's an amazing place to explore, but it is not worth your life. ❤️

@@beyond_civilization They sell meters for air quality and specific pollutants, but they probably cost an arm and a leg. Not sure if that’s in your budget, but it would be a useful tool considering a lot of abandoned places are deserted due to contamination and air pollutants. Might be something to look into so you could get a better exploration experience of some of the sites you visit.

I drove that road quite a few times before any guardrails.Lots of people killed, then a kid from pennsylvania or michigan on his second day in Colorado went off and died. Finally they decided to put guardrails

Oh, wow! There were so many crashed car wrecks at the bottom that I thought it MUST be a dumping ground. But maybe they did actually fall down there! 😧

I live pretty close to Gilman. That place is just massive. It was in operation for 99 years.
