FILM DESCRIPTION:
Two paranormal researchers (Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy) join forces with a nuclear engineer (Kate McKinnon) and a subway attendant (Leslie Jones) to fight off a slew of ghosts that have invaded New York City. Eventually, they come face-to-face with an evil entity who can control human beings. Chris Hemsworth co-stars as the ladies' hunky receptionist. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) directed this reboot of the 1980s franchise; Ivan Reitman, director of both the original film and Ghostbusters II, produced.

In the Ghostbusters comic books, this version of the Ghostbusters got a chance to interact with the 'Classic' team. The big crossover itself featured teams from all kinds of cartoons and video games but Holtzmann's personality played pretty well off the original team. Her talking tech with Egon led to a pretty hilarious moment in the end. Venkman also kept joking that he had no idea what she must have been on but it was good for their line of work. XD

I think the next Ghostbusters movie should be truly extraordinary now that Ivan Reitman son continues his father's Legacy and of course continues to honor the legacy of Harold Ramis. My guess is that the next villain should be an interdimensional ghost perhaps something along the lines of Multiverse. An ancient multiversal entity. Yeah I mean their weapons were cool but this movie leaves so many questions unanswered. Are the ghosts corporeal or ethereal? Why do they need a trap for one but not the others, then later in the movie destroy the same ghost without using a trap? The movie shoots itself constantly in the foot and it breaks the whole thing for me. That and it just wasn't funny enough. Not to mention the whole movie was just a framework for feminist nonsense. That is why the story and writing is barely holding together if even.

I didn’t really expect this movie to be all that good. I grew up watching the original Ghostbusters, but throughout the movie, all the easter eggs that hinted parts of the past movies really is what made it great. I do admit, while it isn’t the original Ghostbusters, it was a great movie.
