The original Ghostbusters got their startup money by mortgaging Ray's parents' house (three times!), at an absolutely abusive interest rate. Even then, by the time they bought the firehouse, the car, and built their equipment, they were broke.

The original had good comedic timing, good writing, SUPER HOT Sigourney Weaver(and she wasn't just eyecandy btw, she was an inspiring character), interesting scenes and an interesting story. The whole reason Gozer is returning is because a mad architect built a skyscraper as a beacon for interdimensional beings, with the purpose of ending the world. There's a reason for what happens and a progression. Gozer is a godlike entity btw. Here's just "a guy wanted to become a ghost or something,dunno"

Also, if he's supposed to be a mockery/social commentary on male geeks, it backfired because male geeks are a huge part of the fan base. 24:40 the reason for the pacing issues is BECAUSE there essentially was no script. The director let his actors riff and he just filmed them. Mike hat, took over 40 minutes of film. The reason the original was better is because it was written by a guy (Dan Akroyd) who is obsessed with the paranormal but also a comedic genius. The movie is about the paranormal, and the comedy is subtle. This film, the comedy is slapstick, in your face, obnoxious. The way the slime was done made it seem like Nickelodeon produced this film. And the paranormal aspect was minor. I was actually frustrated that the concept of lay lines was wasted on this film.

I've seen someone who may have actually liked the movie. I had a free movie ticket from work that I needed to use, there was a single 3D showing at the local theater that weekend, as the movie was on its way out, permanently. The movie theater was almost empty. There were maybe 4 or 5 people besides me, and only 2 were male, myself included. Only one I heard laughing, was that other guy, and every time I heard him laughing, I felt annoyed. Which is a strange reaction, considering it was supposed to be a comedy :D Every time he laughed, I was cringing, thinking in my mind: "Seriously? You are laughing about that?" I felt that, most of the time, the movie wasn't even scripted, and whatever jokes there were, fell flat, but still, there was someone who seemed to be enjoying the movie.

No. Hearses and ambulances were sometimes made by the same coach building companies, but they were equiped completely differently and weren't "interchangeable.". Ambulances switched over to converted vans some time in the 1970s.

I'm sorry but I disliked Patty the most, but that's a really close contest. I thing that pushed her over the top is just that she's just literally yelling the entire movie. Just because you say it loud it doesn't make it funny. If you play the 2009 video game there's a lot of cool lore about ghost classification, and ratings (remake is on steam now, go buy it if you a fan at all!!!) . Where does everyone expect the new one to fall in the rankings, so far each movie has gotten progressively worse so I assume it wont live up to the 2016 version even but fingers crossed it is at least on the level of 2(as low of a bar as that is)

These people are amazing. I'm shouting "Amen" at everything they say, but then around 13 min mark, someone asks "Is GoT any good?" Answer: "No. No it's not. The first few seasons are good..." BOOM, I'm sold! Kindred spirits here! (pun intended) 34:20 OMG POCKETS. SO, first, my wife says this all the time. She has jeans with FAKE POCKETS. They LIE!!! This is so wrong. But that being said, the Ghostbusters outfits are coveralls. They are supposed to have a whole bunch of pockets. Costumes generally skimp on all details - patches are painted on, pockets are fake or just absent, even things like belts are painted on. So, as cosplayers who make our own costumes, we go for authenticity. AND, sometimes, we ADD EXTRA POCKETS - secret, hidden pockets! My wife has made Victorian bustle dresses with hidden pockets in the skirts. The term “junk in the trunk” is quite literal in this case!

My whole thing is that the trailers mentioned how they saved NY 30 years ago… yet this is a reboot. So it’s like they wanted the fandom, but wanted to lecture them. That’s an obvious cash grab. Why couldn’t they make a different movie altogether with the same themes? It’s not like it never been done before; and it’s worked on several occasions. Reanimator and Frankenstein come to mind. Or A Bug’s Life and Seven Samurai.
