Not exactly... Venkman wasn't a teacher (neither were Stantz or Spengler), they were "Research Professors", as it was made very clear they were at the University because of grants... it was basically a temporary spot that could end whenever the Board of Regents decided that what Venkman and company was up to wasn't worth funding. This is why on their door, it listed each of them as Doctor, and not Professor, not to mention why they were kicked off the premises so quickly For Venkman to being using the title of Professor, he more than likely has gone into being either a full time lecturer similar to what Spengler was at the start of Extreme Ghostbusters, or he may have actually applied himself into earning tenure at a university as a full time member of the staff... which is very unlikely considering how he has always seen everything as some kind of dodge or hustle.
