The piano in this is is mesmerizing and you can hear what I think are the piano pedals in the distance. Normally, I don't like to hear the pedals, but whatever that sound is, it has been placed into the song making such a sound that it accompanies the other sounds including her voice perfectly. It feels like floating on waves gently being rocked.

I feel like this transports me to a place of great resignation to a dead relationship. I feel stuck in a purgatory of loss, and emptiness when I listen. It takes me to a private, secret, cold, lonely, dead place. That only I own now, where there once was life, when it was owned by two. A secret place, now long since abandoned. I go back and visit every once in awhile, with this song. Even though it threatens to pull me in, and consume me. Once the proud center of my life, now like a monster I keep in my basement. No one knows about it, everyone thinks I’ve moved on. To be honest, I know what some people say or experience when they say someone they love stopped living, it’s like you stop living too. I know that feeling where it feels right to stare at a gravestone and feel like “if what lies underneath, doesn’t rise up and leave, I won’t leave either”. I don’t want to leave. I don’t want to die, I want to live forever, and sit here in silent devotion, loyalty, steadfastness. Everything I miss out on, all opportunities passed up, all chances to move on. They bring a smile to my face, willingly sacrificed, an offering to my commitment. Given gladly, all of which evidence to reinforce my sincerity, and deep love. If only such things could change the reality, the world I live in is uncaring of my resolve. I move on, not because I want to, but because nothing good will come of my staying. If only it could.
