Ladies and gentlemen. I attest to you here that this is the manufacturer that single handedly ruined well made vacuum cleaners for everyday people through hype and advertising.

I’m happy with my Miele canister. It’s going on 5 years old and still going strong. I only is genuine bags/filters. Living in FL the amount of sand it pulls out of the carpet is astonishing.

As much as I hate Dyson, these are definitely one of the better cleaning Dysons that I've used. My relatives use a Ball Animal 2 Total Clean (blue version) UP20 at their ranch as the daily drive (with a Hoover React Professional Pet as backup), and while its cleaning performance is really good, it also demonstrates why bagless vacuums doesn't really last long down there, the cyclones and filters plug up way too easily.

I bought one of these from Sam's Club not even a year ago. I finally took the cyclone apart to clean it. The button that holds the cyclone to the dust bowl already broke. Dyson is sending a new one no questions asked, but I decided to order a Sebo Felix based on your videos. Thanks for all the info.

I have an Oreck Magnesium that my wife beat to hell vacuuming twice a day for 9 years. Our local Oreck store closed so I learned to maintain it myself. Before that I had bought and replaced cheap bagless vaccums. I replaced the Oreck Magnesium with a Riccar Supralite cordless and a nacecare/numatic Henry Allergy and learned the importance of having both an upright and a canister in a house that's half carpeted. Plan on getting a MD silentmaster installed in the future.

Nice review! I'm currently using my UP19 for review as well. I do enjoy how much lighter it is, but the decrease in build quality from the UP20 is definitely not worth it to some, apparently including Dyson, since there is no Multi Floor 3. It's definitely more creaky, but I do like the lighter weight. I notice these Dysons are very picky with their carpet. For some reason they love my carpet. Also on a side note, the upholstery tool won't fall off if you flip it around, it's designed to snap in with the nozzle facing towards the Bin, so that's why yours is falling off. Dyson was right to ditch this nozzle for the newer style, it honestly should have happened sooner. How much better does it clean your carpet without the brush guard in place?

Great review. Check out the animal 3. Dyson has redone the powerhead with 3 different settings. This makes it a lot easier to push on the carpet. Dyson does sell a tool for going under the furniture. You reviewed it as a floor tool. I agree with the poor build quality. I don't care for bag less vacuums because you have to clean them after you vacuum Seems like double the work to me.

I wish people understood this. They think bags are more work when it's exactly the inverse
@vacuumnut8300
@vacuumnut8300 2 жыл бұрын
@@brody2642 That's because Dyson ran ads making it seem as if bags were a problem. Save money not having to buy bags. Then one has to try to empty a bag less vacuum as the dust flies everywhere. Then you have to take the time to wash out the bin and other filters. It is nuts.

Great review buddy, I think dyson peaked at the DC14 and then lost their way. A real shame. However I do like my UP22 Allergy and toss between that and my Miele C3 Complete as my daily driver

I totally agree. That is a far superior design. My main gripe with the DC14, however, was the filter they practically kept secret from you as the consumer. I remember having one of those and going from "man this thing cleans good" to "when did this start having suction issues" in a matter of a year.

Ohh the Dyson horror....good info though! Perhaps sometime you might look at corded stick vacs like the Eureka Flash (some oddities like slow speed brushead and usual bagless glitches but seems decently made for its $70 cost).

If one is on a budget, they could buy two Hoover bagged uprights for the price of one of those... and avoid all the bummers around bagless machines, while getting a better clean. Hard PASS.

Hello, so what is a continuous run time on the Henry 160? After going through 2 Eureka, 1 Kenmore, 2 Bissel and 1 Shark over the past 10 years I was getting ready to get the Dyson, but after watching your review I got the Henry. I vacuumed the house (we mostly have hardwood floors and low pile area rugs) and the car; very good results. Although going from upright to canister is a bit of learning curve, but I think I will get used to it. I would appreciate the answer to my question. Thank you.

Oh, these are TRASH! At my insistence, I forced a Customer to purchase a new vacuum after 12+ Years of using their DC25. It did not tackle the new dogs hair well enough. So, since they liked the darn dog, a new vacuum was the alternative. I cannot see this unit lasting 12 Years! Oh, they should have gotten the Cinetic a couple Years ago when I purchased mine for $200 NEW.

I think Dyson is one of the better bagless vacuums compared to the cheaper ones at Walmart or any other box stores. However I would rather a bagged vacuum for obvious reasons.

Dysons could work in houses under 3,000 square feet, but not in a house over 4,000 square feet. It will clean bare floors and low to medium pile carpet. If you have high pile carpet or shag rugs, it will not work. The Ball Animal 3 is better quality and is, for the first time in a long time, made in the UK, but it is still bagless, so it does need regular service.

Thanks for this. I love your channel so much as it's taught me a lot. I find Dyson's cordless vacuums convenient and innovative (and I concede that Dyson is overly invested in marketing but I do think that its brand has elevated consumer appreciation for vacuums and that that's a good thing). However, one thing about Dyson upright vacuums, as you noted very well here, is that the whole "highest suction" emphasis is not in the best interests of the consumer and is instead some sort of gimmicky record that Dyson insists on holding on to. The Dyson Ball Animal 3 (which is newer and thus I understand why don't want to review it) has portable lift gates, but wouldn't it make more sense to just have variable suction)? Anyway, I appreciate you for introducing me to Sebo and I hope to own one someday. One question I have is, if someone wanted a corded upright that is maximally maneuverable and a relative joy to use, with the idea that it doesn't have to last more than 3 years, what would you recommend? Thanks.

Dyson were at their best in the days when they used to make the wheeled models DC01, DC04, DC07, DC14, DC27 and DC33. The early cylinders were great too (DC02, DC05 etc. I do believe after that era passed, the overrated ball models appeared. And later on, the cordless appeared, which are atrocious. At this point, any vacuum besides Dyson is a wise choice.

The old clutched Dysons are better built than the later models but it is still far from the best vacuum cleaner.

I had a DC65 for a pretty good time, and I saw outlasts the UP13 by a good margin, but you still have those cyclones to clean and those filters to wash and replace, I just think baggless vacuums are just too much trouble. Stop watching those stupid infomercials and go to your local store and get one that is actually good quality. My Dyson, even for 2015, cleans mediocre.
