That's such a hard yet right ending for such a character like Jack, I mean he's always been guided here and there by the voices in his head. First, the Architect took advantage of his unawareness making GR-74 act on his behalf on a quest to avenge an abstract enemy. At some point, another voice interrupted him as he was on his warpath, led by the Architect. It was Zoe who needed Jack's help. She revealed the true story for Jack, prompting him to change plans. Ever since then he had been helping the humanity to run the Tower, but was it really his calling? As we learn from Jack, he doesn't have hobbies at this point. From his dialogue with Kira we find out that his free time is just sitting quietly. Begs the question whether he really has that free time. In fact, no. He's always busy serving the humanity's business of managing the Tower. And here is where the story twists to his benefit, introducing such threat as the former Ghostrunners, or Asura to be precise. Although it's in Jack's best interest to protect the people who restored him, he is not the one to simply follow this directive. He thinks and analyses as he does, and he gets a better look into what the "lore" behind his origin is. But again, he's guided by voices in his head. The voices are now more diverse unlike during the Architect arc. He's no longer limited by a human and an AI arguing in his head, now he is really in a position to choose who to listen, and mainly, what to listen. And Kira is that one character affecting Jack's personality the most, since she's so annoying and culturally aware at the same time. Another character is Rahu who also made Jack question his own motives rather than be guided by the voices in his head. In the end, Jack decides to leave Dharma. Having listened to as many viewpoints as possible, he felt overwhelmed. In this state, he's on the same page with Bladewolf from Metal Gear Rising, so he goes off to "establish his own parameters and create his own directives" as he explores the Outside. For a character like Jack, this is the inevitable conclusion of his arc as he sets off to listen to his own voice.

Good dissertation on his character. The only plot point unexplained was how did Jack became sentient?. In lore, numbered Ghostrunners was said to be mindless tools without free will unlike the "Ashura" and "Hel" counterpart.
@dinoa7xDarkRangers Жыл бұрын
@@Recruit211this is indeed unexplained but perhaps can be a result of the climbers stripping off his code restrictions while rebuilding him. What puzzles me is the fact that Adrian Bakunin survived. @Recruit211 Жыл бұрын
Gameplay wise, they really nailed it. I loved the addition of bike and they really elevated the boss fight unlike in the original where you just dodge, weave and attack. Other than that, it felt just like the first Ghostrunner with some QOL improvement. Unfortunately, the soundtrack doesn't deliver for me. The later half of the game leans more to orchestral rather than dark synthwave but there are still some banger i.e. soundtrack during first bike section

Honestly I haven't played but I've seen gameplays and both games look fun and the sequel definitely has an interesting story on, but there areas where it does feel like there's a few holes at feels a little all over the place if that makes sense. Mainly with mitra like was his actual deal, at first it sounded like he wanted freedom and possibly revenge which seems legit considering his background, then he kills Connor and at least acknowledges jack as technically free but now simply choosing servitude which disgusted and made the ultimatum "be free (join me/stay out of my way) or die as a slave". Then later on Rahu claims that mitra hated his and Jack's kind during the boss fight since they're machines and not knowing he's just a machine with human memories himself and that part felt tact on since he never showed any signs of actually hating machines so what's the deal there. Seriously he felt back and fourth like he goes from wanting free grs to simply wanting to destroy dharma and not even in a "he's a hypocrite" way but more like the story itself just has it back and fourth. I may need someone to genuinely explain to me his end goal cause I would really like to know what he was trying yo accomplish. Also they Arhiman didn't participate in the uprising yet he's addressing mitra as master so what's the deal there. Also on that it feels like a shame he didn't get real dying dialogue and Jack just kills him in the middle.

@@rogue_infinity but he could’ve been. In the DLC he is shown to be condescending and manipulative. He dismisses evidence that their plans are about to break down, and when they do, he sends his friends and a bunch of other rebels to go get mulched while he goes and runs away like a coward. We also see in this game he barges in after Jack solves all the problems and establishes himself as de facto leader, even though he contributed nothing. It would’ve been super interesting to have Jack resolve the ghostrunner conflict, and then have to take on Connor who’s gone either power-hungry or paranoid. It would’ve been a good arc.
@rogue_infinity7 ай бұрын
@@crabbowiththestabbo i disagree because this is a classic case of bad writing. We barely know anything about connor other than side character anecdotes, the point of GR2 was the resurgence of ghost runners from the past to which connor has little to nothing to do with it.
