This video will help you beat Chapters 1-4 in Roguerunner.exe, a roguelike mini-game from “Ghostrunner 2,” and get the final sword needed to complete all the collectibles for the Chewing The Scenery trophy. To keep the video short, only successful attempts to complete a particular level are included.
My tips for completing Roguerunner.exe are very simple: When choosing a path, I always gave priority to levels with platforming. They are simpler, there are fewer surprises in them, and, most importantly, they are completed much faster.
When choosing between levels that gave extra lives and levels that gave upgrades, I always chose extra lives so that I would have more opportunities to advance further or at least learn the later levels better.
In terms of upgrades, I, first of all, tried to upgrade shurikens in order to shoot the nastiest enemies from afar, and also upgraded the ability to deflect bullets with my katana. With an emphasis on platforming, it would probably be logical to improve the jump. But in the end, I realized that it was easier for me to play with a standard jump. Jumping up twice as high as usual was somehow unusual, which led to unnecessary mistakes.
Roguerunner.exe seems like an impossible task at first, but basically all you need is to learn how to consistently complete the first two chapters, after that you’ll definitely beat chapters three and four. The third chapter is easier than the second one, and in the fourth chapter the main thing is not to give up and fight till the end, no matter how crazy the next level may seem. Here, for levels with a green cross you get 10 lives, so you have quite a lot of space for error. Only in this video at some point I had 27 lives and at some point only one, but I still prevailed...
