Those little windows are called “transom windows”. They help keep privacy while letting light in. Especially when electric lighting was new or hard to come by. Sometimes they open for air flow. Usually above doors.

5:28 Is that a transom window over the doorway? Schools used to have those, but smoke could pour in from a fire elsewhere in the hallway. They were great for ventilation and bad for the same reason.

Hey, I can't remember if I was subscribed when you guys were "something or other tour", I know I watched several of your videos. Does changing the name of the channel cause some things to not show up? In any case, I just subscribed or re-subscribed. Been enjoying ya'll on and off for a while now. Not sure but I'm happy you found your way back either way. My main camera (was) a Sony A7iii but it recently broke so I'm saving up for a replacement.
