I've studied titanic since age 7. During my younger years I was able through family friends to collect odd pieces from Titanic. The best piece in my collection is a old pocketwatch retrieved from a 3rd class passenger that was removed from the floating debris field upon recovery. Hands stopped at 220am. I've got pieces of the ship as well. I wish I could obtain more.

I am a major Titanic Fanatic, but it's absolutely terrible that they disturbed the Titanic final resting place . This is akin to grave robbing. So many innocents lost in this tragedy.
@xoticyt1846
@xoticyt1846 10 ай бұрын
I do agree on the grave robbing aspect but the counter argument I have brought up in a friendly debate was that this was such a historic tragedy that the people do not deserve to be lost in time. The titanic as we know isn't going to be around much longer so personally I try to view it as they are trying to keep young minds learning and the tragedy of that night forever noted in history well into the future

Same here! Plus, there was a surviving passenger who was a fairly famous movie star for the time named Dorothy Gibson. 5hat was my moms name after she married my dad. And the communications officer on the Californian who turned the telegraph off after the Titanic clerk told him to shut up because he was too busy was named James Gibson. That was my grandfathers name (James Benjamin Gibson) & my dad was James William Gibson. My grandfathers father would have been the right age to have been the same guy, but my grandfather was in an orphanage when very young, & it burned down later with all the orphans records. We do think he was at least partly Irish. I 9nly found out about this in the last few years, but have felt a strong connection to & great sadness about the Titanic since Ivwas very young. I would love to learn more. I am currently having a lot of health issues & a lot of pain, so I haven't felt focused enough to research anything. Hopefully I will be able to do it in the near future.

That was so scary when it said swim, alot of people were left when there where no lifeboats so of course many tried to swim but unfortunately the ice cold water quickly took the life of many, only 3 where pulled out of the water alive and even if all the boats were filled to their capacity it wouldn't be enough to have been save all of them

I did a production of Titanic - The Musical about 10 years ago. Learning all the history and all about the passengers was really interesting. We had passenger cards as well that each audience member received when they arrived at the theatre. They could also learn about who their passenger was, and if they survived that fateful night, similar to the Guggenheim card you had. He was also a character in the musical. I suggest listening to the broadway recording, if that's your thing.

I went to the exhibit in Montreal, Canada when I was younger. I remember feeling such a strong, undescribable connection to this story. Probably related to a past life or a relative. I've always loved this story and could never explain why. The iceberg room was such a weird experience for me. It was almost like I felt all of their suffering. For a short second, I wanted to show them all my love. I touched the ice too and felt as if I was sent back to that moment when 11h40 strikes. It's such an emotional time for me.

When I went to the Titanic exhibition in Melbourne, Australia over 10 years ago I felt something beside me the whole time, I had this heavy feeling on my chest, I was very cold throughout the entire tour and I was emotional. Feeling that iceberg was when everything hit me at once 😞 Realising how cold that water would have been mixed with the night air would have been torturous, Having to leave your family not knowing if you will ever see them again. Seeing those shoes and the clothing made me visualise who might have been wearing them also seeing all of the belongings was heart wrenching 😢 I still have my replica boarding pass to this day. May all of the lost Rest In Peace 💙💙
