This flick gets better every time I stop by for a quick rewatch. Bravo Carpenter!

I remember seeing this for the first time in 2009. I heard so many bad things about it,but after watching it,I found it to be very entertaining. It is energetic,has attitude,and isn't too campy to the point of the film falling of the rails. I,for one,thought when Desolation came back,I was ecstatic. I wouldn't mind a sequel,but it is for the best we didn't get one.Still,I really enjoy this movie,and it is extremely underrated. Come on,it isn't Battlefield Earth bad.

A sequel by carpenter with bigger budget wouldve been spectacular

am i the only person who thinks this would have made a sick ass survival horror game?
@HorrorTacticoАй бұрын
No. I'm of the opinion that this movie should have been a game, never a movie. That soundtrack isn't very survival horror to me... More like a fast-paced shooter.

Maybe he can make a sequel called Ghost of Mars 2: Hell on Mars. That’ll be awesome..

4.50 stainless steel uzis This movie is so simple that it may be based only on a dream of John Carpenter Surely a nightmare ,like the movie's reception of the critics ,very low Still ,a ''nice'' movie ,but just because it is the only one .The second one can only be better ,worst ...no chance .

Honestly feels like that last scene with Desolation waking up the cop was a studio decision If it ended with the ghost cloud surrounding the city would have been a lot better

Pretty much like most of Carpenter's films since The Thing-interesting concept, poorly executed, and with a really dumb ending. I would have put in a lot more of Natasha Henstridge in that underwear-whoa!

There's a reason. "They live" almost got John carpenter black balled, and he never stopped trying to wake people up, so he never had much support in hollywood. Even this movie is full of truth. The story says it all. After the initial cloud, only a few of the miners were unaffected by it, with the majority becoming "confused" and later violent and deranged. The few who were unaffected tried to help those who were affected, by trying to get them to snap out of it. Those that tried to help them were the first to die. This is how it shall be, even as it is, with the truth tellers.
