I feel for these refs, you have to be super fast at adding up, while I'm still trying to add up the first 3 darts when the leg is finished. However, none of us are perfect, and making mistakes is part of the human condition. But when they do it on a stage in from of a crowd, and a huge tv audience, there is nowhere for them to hide. Look these are very minor and very few mistakes by the refs considering just how many games they are part of every single year. Everyone gets brain freeze every now and then and in all cases when the mistake was alerted to them they corrected it. Can the same be said of the ref's in Football???? Give them a break for gods sake. Jeez. I'd like to see some of you lot doing it this fast when the players are up to collect their darts barely after the darts have landed and then the next player is throwing barely after the other player has walked off the oche. Mmmm. You don't know what you're talking about. There's literally over 50 tournaments that are televised or streamed in Europe and two or three in the US. I don't remember ever seeing so many errors when the callers and scorers were more low key and focused entirely on their tasks rather than trying to be part of the event.Russ Bray (as in donkey) is horrendous and the worse example,making a meal out of calling a score rather than being efficient,it's also unfair on the other player who has to wait for him and the crowd to shut up and settle possibly spoiling their rhythm.I always hit 'mute' when he's gobbing off.
