Ovie...There is a funny line in it ..Giancarlo had gotten his hair done in a twist set...it was quite short so sticking out a bit..They were planning a protest to the racist pizza parlor..so, Giancarlo is pushing for the March a d Protest..Giancarlo is "C'on.an we gotta protest...we have to protest..(not verbatum) but Spike Lee said "Man you need to go protest that mf who did your hairdo" Giancarlo had on one of his hats a d these rounds glasses..Ig been a,while since I looked at it so my details may not v d totally accurate .. I loved that movie..and Mo Better Blues it . has a great score and good tracks......didn't mean to ramble ...lol but just saw Giancarlo on Jimmy Fallon..great interview and chat..

Getting killed in shows allows him to give the role his all - so he can move on to another great role with nothing holding him back. Saul was a great exception - but it was cathartic watching him in that knowing what happens in Breaking Bad

The range this cat has is damn near limitless. Firstly, he's always gonna be Buggin' Out ('Do the Right Thing') or Dean Big Brother Almighty ('School Daze') to me, first and foremost, because those iconic Spike Lee films are essential to my life history, as well as the way his bandmates clowned him in the dressing room in 'Mo Better Blues' always cracked me up. But he was deep and kinda disturbing on 'The Get Down' where he got to dig into his Latino/Christian roots, and I can even go back to remembering one of his early movie roles as a non-speaking extra in 'Trading Places', opposite Eddie Murphy, in the funny "Karate man" jail scene, although I was too young to see it back then lol I recall an indie film he did, as well, on the history of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, though I forget the title. One of my favorite actors before he was in any of the major roles most people know him for in the past decade.
